The podcasts of the past couple of episodes haven't been working. I got none of the last ones, and only the first segment of the new episode. I'm subscribing through iTunes. Any thoughts?

I lolled @ the Simon Pound piece. Fantastic.
It's also fantastic traveling down country and watching the political hoardings change - as soon as I left Auckland, it was like Labour and the Greens stopped existing.
I imagine tourists visiting the country for the first time and traveling that same route could leave with the distinct impression that the Act party were a bit of a big deal.

The podcasts have not been working for me either. Same symptoms: Episode 29 AWOL, and iTunes can only find part 1 of Episode 30.

I bought a Freeview terrestrial box last weekend and now have perfect reception on all the channels it provides.
My bunny ears had delivered 2, 3 and 4 well and the rest fair to poor. Not it's all good.
Looking forward to seeing Media & as it is meant to be seen - on the telly.
:-)
TVNZ 7 is showing a lot of promise. Keep up the great work!

The MP4 podcasts have been dodgy for a while now, can't download directly or using iTunes.
I emailed TVNZ support a while ago, never got a reply.
Only way we can watch on tv is via podcasts, otherwise the family has to crowd around the computer screen :(
Maybe you could have a word with them Russell. -
I think the YouTube link is wrong - it seems to be looking at crime reporting rather than the campaigns. Old episode?
Curious consequence of using MySky - I haven't yet seen one party political broadcast, except at x30 speed. Can't say I miss it. Have they ever been informative? The interest, if there is any, is in rating how well you think they would influence other people. Their influence on me can naturally be none at all since they don't contain any information I'd use in the decision about which party is likely to offer policy that I hate less.
At x30 speed I can glean:
-Labour reckons Key is two-faced
-Greens think of the children
-National thinks their future will be brighter. The polls agree -
The Newsmash needs a warning that it contains Russell singing the opening line of The Greatest Love of All. HALP!
-
-Greens think of the children
At last, someone thinks of the children.
-
I'm jealous of the children. I'd much rather be born now.
-
John Ansell was so funny. "Miss Leader". Ahahahahahaha... women don't vote, right?

Evil, huh?

+1 on the podcast issues...
Been hit-n-miss for months...
-
Righto. I'll get on to the podcast issue and see what I can do.

Ooh, I do hope no-one "connected" sees this, I'd hate to see them paced like DVD Piracy ads, designed to be watched at x30.

That would suck for everyone else, for sure. But watching ads sux anyway. Don't most people take a piss, make a coffee, get a snack, take a nap, with the sound off? I always did before the miracle of ez timeshifting. If not, they deserve to be indoctrinated.

I personally feel that by not watching the ads you're stealing television.

Sadly I suspect that things like mysky are going to be pushing us down the line of produce placement and endorsements. I listened to an ice hockey commentator the other day babble on about some car or something, instead of discussing the actual game.
If cans of coke start mysteriously appearing on Lost, held logo to the camera, I'm going to throw something at the TV.

Yes! It adds to the devil-may-care-pirate persona that I like to portray to the world.
No dount you've noticed.

...and the shoes from my 4 year old son's feet!
Ads are like ranting crazies using invisible Bluetooth on the bus. You can't escape them, but you can always gaze into the middle distance and think about something else until they get off.

Do I have to feel warmly about the advertiser to avoid this crime, or just watch diligently and intently?
-
Isn't TV stolen all the sweeter?
Product placement in shows has been happening for years and years. Doesn't really seem that much of a problem to me. Sometimes there's cognitive dissonance when I see everyone using Apples in movies, but then I remind myself "This IS fiction. There just isn't that much money in the whole world".
-
I don't mind watching the prime-time ads. Some of them have as much production value as the shows within which they are embedded.
Anyway, I need to know what extra cruft I can consume to absorb the jump in income caused by my recent tax-cut. There is no point in saving any extra money because WE'RE ALL GOING TO DIE!!
