And to be fair, it's been six years.
What? SInce you got a babe? You should've joined the Wellingtonista. We get lots.
-
llew's lying.
@d. glad to hear you're settling back in. i think we can now refer to you as a public address/blogger "lifer". there at the beginning, there at the end. :)
-
AS if I ever would :)

I've always had a vague impression that Wellingtonians in general are always "gettin' some". There's something in the air, perhaps.

There's something in the air, perhaps.
Something in the air causing the some-gettin' or something in the air giving you that impression?
-
The former. Actually, my impression is probably based on the favourable social atmosphere in and around downtown Wellington. It probably helps that my last 3 visits were on glorious summer days. It will be a different proposition by July, no doubt.

We'll be in the hot tub.

This thread is giving me the impression that you might not need any...

OK, I'm withdrawing my vote for PAS for that best blog thinger. TMI.

As much as I enjoyed certain aspects of living in Wellington, I have to say the opportunities in Auckland are such that the streets are paved, if not with gold (especially not at current prices), then pork bellies, or milk powder, or some tangible commodity.
Meanwhile, I'm moving to Wellington in less than a month in search of porkbellies, milk powder or maybe even orange juice of a more cultured kind. Uh, something like that.
Fun fact: Google for "it's been a while since my last post" gives over 36,000 hits.
Also, wouldn't it be cool to run a blog where every single post was an apology for not updating more frequently?

Nah. They just have lower standards.

Martin Phillips

Nah. They just have lower standards.
And double, but hey, at least we have standards.

i think it's more that wellington is an urban jungle.
some like to use the vines to get about.
personally, i'm a little more pedestrian.

If I did Russell would end up acting like Martin Phillips when he became the only original Chill, and we don't want that.
We certainly don't...

That's for damn sure. That's why we can write posts about wanting to sleep with Damian Christie and even our closest friends can't tell if we're kidding or not.

Five and a half? Feels like ten, but.
I am, if memory serves, the only remaining founding member of Public Address other than Russell.
[Clears throat significantly]. Although I guess my ninja-like stealth posting gives me that cloak of invisibility. I did get some babes, though. Two of 'em!

What's more, you linguists and apostrophe fiends will be pleased to note, if you remove the apostrophe and use "its" instead of "it's"... the count is lower, not higher (less than 1000, in fact).... so the world isn't going to hell in a hand-basket.
(I bothered to search because I suspected the opposite result)

I think it's just that everyone is drunk, all the time, trying to forget about the fact they live in Wellington. At least in winter, cos I have to admit this summer did rock.

Jolisa, aren't I right I thinking you were there JUST after the founding? </pedant>
-
A move to Auckland (and to the only babe this blogger needs)...
Oh the vanity! (Did you used to work in the media?) Do you think she actually reads your blog?
Jolisa, aren't I right in thinking you were ...
Am I right in thinking ...? (not Jolisa, are not I right in thinking you were...)
</evenmorepedant>
-
How about then:
Jolisa, are I not wrong in thinking you were...

aherm...
i believe the correct in-joke is </pendant>

Yeah yeah. I originally wrote "am", then changed it to "aren't." Because I reckon "aren't" has the better tone in this instance. "Am" works if I'm genuinely asking a question. "Aren't" suggests I already know the answer... ;)
