Ian Dalziel, in reply to
National’s campaign launch is this Sunday.
I know, which makes we wonder about their protestations up to this point that 'this' was getting in the way of the campaign, .
This is still the preamble...
(preshamble, perhaps?)
I've also been wondering what the past descriptive phrase is for a 'conspiracy theorist'?
- y'know after the 'proposition' proves to be true - that a cabal exists that are 'working together (ie sharing breath) to bring about a particular result, typically to someone's detriment', is now no longer in doubt.
- a 'conspiracy prover'?
- an 'illuminator'?
- prometheus?
While I have a head of steam up...
What's with recruitment companies these days?
I was just checking what I was incapable of in the Career Section of The Press today, (go on gizza job!) and there are fancy names like 'Echelon', best was 'Ichor' - I'm sure they thought "Blood of the Gods, oath that'll do us!", without considering the more Lovecraftian usages - 'fetid discharge from a suppurating wound'...
...or maybe they specialise in Government Appointments? -
Probably 'conspiracy historian'

That link took me to a page that wanted me to register on Mega, which I did. then it wouldn’t let me open it.
I've emailed you

Here you go:
However, the imgur posts have everything that was included. I think Whaledump is just going to drip-feed emails as backup for Hager’s book. I wouldn’t expect anything too radical to be released beyond the book’s claims unless Whaledump decides to go after some of the stuff Hager wouldn’t touch.
Thanks, Kirk. Seems to be the case, yes. Even releasing the stuff Nicky did cover would be compelling for those saying he made it up (which are damn few, because the usual suspects know he doesn't). Of course, every time Key, Joyce et al refer to "stolen emails", they're just confirming the authenticity of the content.

Sorry, not sure what went wrong there. You shouldn't need to register, should just get a download button for the file.

Nope, they are missing one of the images. 11 of 12.

You can see a rather hard road for National to walk over the next five weeks - several small dumps to back up Hager's book and possibly add a little more to it that he didn't cover coming from whaledump, just to keep the news on it coming back again and again - each time a new round of news stories and further interviews and further commentators pulling it apart.
That's a painful environment to campaign in.

There’s 11 on the page, but 12 in the download.
[edit] Nope, just checked, there were 12 in the download I got yesterday.
[edit2] The missing one is of Slater sending Ede some details of people that have been identified by their motorcycle licence plates by a third party. Probably withdrawn because it compromised their privacy. -

Yep, bingo. Maybe someone will redact all over it and re-publish.
-
Here's the missing image, redacted by me for privacy reasons. The email is addressed to Slater's tipoff address from someone on an xtra account, which he then passes on to Ede. Both are environmental activists and one of them is quite well known. Very unclear why Slater is passing them to Ede, but he has laid into one of them in the past.

Jolyon White was a partner of Green Party co-leader Russel Norman's executive assistant. The same day, Norman admitted vandalism of more than 700 National Party billboard was co-ordinated by White, but said it was not related to the Green Party.

I was trying not to personally identify anyone to preserve their privacy, Stephen. Use you bloody scone, won't you?

Yep, but my point was that (to my surprise) that cat unfortunately was already out of the bag. As they say.

That doesn't excuse you being a party to it.

I'm okay with this. Jolyon White's name was reported at the time and there's a public interest in knowing what else happened.
But thanks for caring. I think we're getting an insight on how meticulous Nicky Hager was about avoiding personal material in his book.

'Trigger' happy...
'Politics' is governance not culture...
...so why hasNapier's MTG has been forced to delay the launch of an exhibition of the late MP Whetu Tirikatene-Sullivan's clothing after the Electoral Commission raised concerns the display could influence voters on election day.
It now opens a week later on the 27th!
Looks like a great show - great graphics, great vision...First Darren Watson gets muzzled...
Will they be gagging 7 Days next?
With all their 'one-liners' National says
they'll do the comedy, thank you......after all elections are a laughing matter!
Right?
...in fact I feel like crying! -

Looks like a great show – great graphics, great vision…At the time I felt blase about the changes to the Electoral Act. With this ruling (and the Key parody song) as examples (and no, not just because they are coming from the side of the fence I'm on) it's apparent I was wrong.
It's dodgy. It does appear to infringe basic freedom of speech and expression in ways that go well beyond what I thought was the intention.
Too late now, but it definitely needs to be changed. -

And (a rather loose connection) Stuff reports that young Nats in Waikato are burning 220 copies of the Hager book.
What's next? Compulsory arm bands for left-leaning musicians?
-
Steve Barnes, in reply to
young Nats in Waikato are burning 220 copies of the Hager book.
That is wonderful, another way to give Hager the credit and financial reward he deserves. Perhaps they could order another 10,000 print run to keep the elderly warm over winter and another 10,000 for them to read over a nice cup of cocoa, bless ’em.
At $30 a pop that is $660 that these caring and sharing young gnats could have given to the poor but why would you? they would only spend it on booze and fags eh, so in a way the gnats would get it all back. -
Alfie, in reply to

In fact it's an even more impressive $6,600 that the young nats have donated to Mr Hager. ;-)
