Well your write up got me to try and get Adele, I played the two tracks and they do nothing at all for me.

And these two collaborations with the Chem Brothers are far more interesting than Adele.

I don't normally comment on the music post because, well officially my taste in music is crap. But what the hell.

Several years ago we ditched our living room TV and got a big screen (hanging from hooks in the ceiling) and a projector. It means we don't have to go to the movie theatre and be around people.

But a side effect is we now run our sound through our stereo, which is a very good setup ... even though my taste in music is crap.

At some point we discovered concerts on Blu-Ray, they are great. And one of the best is Adele live at the Royal Albert Fucking Hall! It's not the best concert we have but it's close - we do sometimes feel guilty about how loud it gets though.

Her voice is at its best and the transition to her speaking voice is hilarious, she smiles, she kicks off her heels, she waves to people in the audience and she so very much communicates her sheer joy at being there. And the audience love her. You simply can't watch that concert without feeling that joy.

And despite the fact my taste is crap I really like it anyway so there!

The recent 'Adele at the BBC' show was good too. I like the way she doesn't worry about rough edges in her vocal performance. She's real.

Well, apart from the fact that it’s a song she wrote and sings herself, rather than an old folk record someone burgled some samples off.

Perhaps you’d prefer the Jamie Xx take?

This is what I think is interesting about her – those songs play into areas a long way from the mainstream audience for her original albums.

Sorry y'all, Im with Noel. The way Adele responded to expectation was by doing a simple copy and paste as far as I can see. She's great, her voice is great, but we've heard it all before.

A bit like Oasis really, when you think of it - except she's plagiarising herself rather than the Beatles...

The Chemical Brothers already did that but they called it Let Forever Be instead. Probably for copyright reasons.

As I think I said to you on Twitter at the time, 'Hello' isn't my musical cup of tea but I can see what she's trying to do and she does it well. And sorry, Noel, but at least when Adele has an album or tour to promote she doesn't go straight to the "go trolling for some pathetic but attention-getting celebrity feud" play. "Not because I have any sort of agenda," my arse.

They're so much better but the good bits are the Jamie xx ones, so I'd rather listen to his other stuff which to my ears is much better. What Adele herself is responsible for doesn't appeal.

I think you may mean a mashup of a Chems song with Tomorrow Never Knows, - either way better to rip off that song than a Moby one!

I'll stick with your other recommends and leave Adele to the masses who adore her.

At times I seem to be the only person who always thought Oasis were crap, and I wouldn't piss on Noel Gallagher to put out a fire. That said, I'm not rushing out to buy Adele either.

The best Chemical Brothers song is actually Speed Caravan's version of Galvanise.

This is a much better version of Hello.

Never take anything remotely seriously said by NG. He's good for a couple a lols sometimes. His musics done by done. That said Adele's a bawbag - I'm more of a umo flat Eric kinda guy.

DnB Adele! Much better. I wish that more breakbeat and related genres had strong female vocal like hers than those wispy girl-like voices they often seem to go for. Love those other two mixes as well.

Adele's not my cup of tea, but her 'Jenny' impersonator stunt was amusing.

Adele managed to score the contract for Skyfall but the whiney Mancunian only managed to rip off the James Bond score in some dire homage.

Spot on re Adele's remixability. Her originals leave me cold but work really well in other genres. Similar to Lana Del Rey actually. Yeah and I'm over songs about that guy.

Adele's not my cuppa either, but she's nowhere near as tedious, dull and over-rated as Oasis.
