merc,
Sure, I'm going to have me dinner first though.
-
Ngggg
I that a Marge Simpsonism?
-
merc,
Blast, I can't email out from this account, though I've had a chance to think it over and feel there is no use in it for me.
So, I retire from the field head held high, perhaps I did play a little hardball there but hey, in real life if someone would try to shut me down with the old conspiracy theorist thang, then cries crystal clear do you hear this is the Readers Digest version for you, well I'd have a go, yeah.
So it goes, last post, thanks for the fish and all that.
Riddley, Hamish, and Milo, take care of MerkProductionz (TM), definitely the most fun I've ever had online, now don't fight over my share and never take anyone seriously except yourselves.
Enough or too much! Blake. -
While we're on housekeeping, I've locked dad4justice's account, for trolling, and for being a wee bit scary.
I did it a couple of days ago, but didn't want to say so until I was sure his session had ended and he wasn't still logged in.

More than a wee bit

More than a wee bit
Fair enough.

m, well that will make two of us.
i need the laughs we had, that was a lot of fun.<parody of kiwibog> but i sure as hell don't need the shitty bitchiness of Lincoln Meyer types who crave the abuse inherent in supporting parties that despise their own ethnicity and sexuality, and who hang out where they're not welcome. maybe it reminds him of his dad. good work though, that's 3 down in the race to the gutter <parody of kiwibog>
Good luck with PA Russell, you're a rare credit to nz journalism and, parodies aside, the promotion democratic discourse. I realise i over-reacted to and misinterpreted what i thought was yet another piece of two-face attack commentary. But i took to heart the issues concerning bullying and i am not interested in having to tolerate it.
G'Bye. -
Russell:
Can you please deactivate my account, because 1) I think that's the only outcome that's going to satisfy some people, and 2) I don't really any point in continuing to contribute to a forum where I generate this much angst.
I'd also like to publicly apologise for providing the occasion for attacks on your personal integrity that (IMO) were totally out of line, and absolutely unfair.
-
Riddley, make a grand exit if you must, but that "parody" was nasty and hurtful.
-
Sheesh, did I miss something?
Sorry, but I was watching Attack of The 50 Foot Drama Queens -
geez what's with the angst against Craig? To be honest I don't see what the fuss is about. Sure he may be a bit acid at times but at least he backs up his arguments with reasoned debate.
If anyone's taken offence at his comments please consider this:
Would you rather debate D4J?
-
wtf? i take a day off and r and merc flip out?
-
Funny old world. I thought Craig's reported entry on Kiwiblog was shear brilliance. If you are still reading at all Craig, kudos to you.
I also like his podcasts which have a different tone again. Interesting how the mediums filter perception.
Riddley and merc, some would see filling threads with an incessant stream of "witty" comments as also closing down debate. It's worth re-thinking how you perceive folk you disagree with online. All you have done now is make Ian Wishart and his supporters very happy.
-
wtf? i take a day off and r and merc flip out?
Actually a lot of people were doing summersaults all the way back on page 9.
Jeez, people...THEATRE!
I don't really any point in continuing to contribute to a forum where I generate this much...
THEATRE!

NI had it right: Attack of The 50 Foot Drama Queens
In real life if someone's an @rsehole you just call them that and walk off. But that doesn't mean you chuck your toys and never come back to a good party* to discuss issues with others. Even if that @rsehole is still there.
Isn't that the wonder of Web 2.0? If we all just leave after a stoush then we create silos and we'll have no place for decent arguement. (though that dad4justice guy was a little nuts).
This is not my last post. I talk to freakin' much for that.
*that's right I called the system a party.
-
ps. all the caps and bolds were not yelling.
-
and never come back to a good party
An important point Hadyn.
some would see filling threads with an incessant stream of "witty" comments as also closing down debate
Then some would be wrong. Give me a forum filled with "wit" rather than the sewer.
When you get pissed off on a forum it's best to just leave it alone for 2 or 3 days. There will always be another thread, as RB stated.
I am very sorry to see m and R go, I have never had so many shared laughs from an online conversation. They know what's best for them though and I wish them well on the voyage.
-
An important point Hadyn.
Get it right! It's spelled Haydon ;)

:PChe, remember your breathing excerises...

It's starting to look like the ground state for a web forum like this is something like the Trademe messageboard.

Guys, why do we fight? Seeing as we are all dirty lefties, we should return , as always, to Orwell:
Undoubtedly when you are at war with a deadly enemy it is better not to begin fighting among yourselves - but it is worth remembering that it takes two to make a quarrel and that people do not begin building barricades unless they have received samething that they regard as a provocation.
And just to keep our feet on the ground (especially for those who don't consider themselves dirty lefties):
So much of left-wing thought is a kind of playing with fire by people who don't even know that fire is hot.
Orwell is like the bible, a quote for every occaision.
-
Seeing as we are all dirty lefties...
Speak for yourself I shower every...(sniffs armpit)...ok, point taken.

Well, if I can put my two cents in (which I don't very often) I am surprised at some of the responses to Merc and Riddley leaving.
It seems to me that the first nasty post was by Craig on page 14 and the animosity in it would warrant a response.
If I may psycho-babble for a moment it would seem a territorial response by Merc and Riddley to being attacked in what they perceive as 'safe' territory and then not really being supported for pointing out those attacks.
I don't know why people then have to call them drama-queens. Both have made this forum a delightful place to lurk and were really welcoming on the odd time I have attempted to comment.
I would agree with the dirty leftie observations
-
Riddley and merc, some would see filling threads with an incessant stream of "witty" comments as also closing down debate.
I'm with Don on this one. Craig's constant shrill hysteria can be a little tedious but I found all the merc and Ridley spam much more annoying.
Meanwhile, Ian's site continues to be the gift that keeps on giving.
-
Then some would be wrong. Give me a forum filled with "wit" rather than the sewer.
Totally agree, it's just that there are times that it gets tedious to me and interesting threads get subsumed by the volume.
I have never bothered to comment on it because I realise that:
1. It's not my business/blog
2. Others enjoy it - particularly merc and Riddley. Heck, I enjoy it at times.
3. Something about being in glasshouses - I am annoying bugger/smartarse, or so my teachers used to tell me.Anyhoo as Che says, bring em all back, please.
Post your response…
