but I found all the merc and Ridley spam much more annoying.

here was me thinking that PA was a nice, big, happy family blog that although having a few ructions now and then generally was an enjoyable place to chat about politics or complete bollox (as the fabulous rambling creation of mercproductions was).

I don't like this new tone that is creeping in. Who cares if merc and riddley liked to enjoy each others ramblings. I, and seemingly several others, enjoyed their witty comments and found them a welcome relief from some of the heated debate.

I would also agree with Don It's worth re-thinking how you perceive folk you disagree with online
Sometimes people can get overly offended by attacks on their comments but I also think that is because people have gotten used to being supported and valued on PA. I for one would hate to see that change.

I value Craig as a differing voice on PA. I don't think he should be so quick to turn defensive but that is hardly surprising being the only righty brave enough to frequently enter into constructive debate here. But I also am appalled to see people turn on m and r who I definitely value as making PA worthwhile.

  • Hard News: He even has his Baldrick,

Can I have some of your crack?

Ok...it was a theory of Copeland's reasoning not my personal opinion but thank you for implying I must be on drugs because of that statement. Very productive.

  • Hard News: He even has his Baldrick,

I think Copeland has realised that come next election the "Keymister" won't want to be in the same sorry position as the "Donmister" (no friendies to form coalitions with).

Even though Dunne is fickle and power driven enough to decide to support Key next election that isn't a sure bet. He has after all supported the pinko femme-bots for two government terms now.

So United Future may lose votes to National in the next election because its supporters don't want to risk another round of nanny state and possible cannabis smoking greenies.

Copeland has seen the groundswell for National, decided Key is middle of the road enough not to scare of his middle of the road constituency and also perceived the need for a coalition possibility that will clearly side with National. Thus he provides a clear centre-right choice for voters rather than the 'centre-power' choice that is Dunne.

  • Hard News: Claims,

Well, if I can put my two cents in (which I don't very often) I am surprised at some of the responses to Merc and Riddley leaving.

It seems to me that the first nasty post was by Craig on page 14 and the animosity in it would warrant a response.

If I may psycho-babble for a moment it would seem a territorial response by Merc and Riddley to being attacked in what they perceive as 'safe' territory and then not really being supported for pointing out those attacks.

I don't know why people then have to call them drama-queens. Both have made this forum a delightful place to lurk and were really welcoming on the odd time I have attempted to comment.

I would agree with the dirty leftie observations

  • Cracker: Flashback,

BOYS! For goodness sake I leave you alone for a minute and this is the madness you descend into?

Back to the script or this whole deal goes down the gurgler...and you know whose arse will be on the line? That smooth, pink guinea pig arse. So Merc, if you want to ensure the safety of your diminutive friend, we should return to the hostage situation of endless Kenny G.

I could never imagine searching for a Gestetner but neh what can you do with the tragic story lines that pass for highbrow these days. Bring back Buttercup and Wesley if you ask me...but who would? I’m just the hot chick in the overly revealing clothing

  • Cracker: Flashback,

Enter Kadife: dressed in a midnight blue silk dress, backless and with a plunging neckline. Her dark hair billowing around her face with the flicks of teenage boy Farrah Fawcett fantasies. Her black stiletto heels still had traces of mud from the old country.

She stepped over a curious arrangement of small toy soldiers and bicycle figurines assembled in some web of fantasy on the hard wood floor. She was, however, unable to avoid a small pink lump reminiscent of some form of rodent...possibly a guinea pig. It squealed something about the Overlord and then scurried away.

Kadife beckoned to a tall dark figure in the corner...

Well my dearest Merc, I am glad that your powers of perception are not completely infallible. I am actually the dark mysterious female of this storyline
