  • Hard News: Recreations,

Yes, I think your assumptions are correct, Evan.

As for landing in Wellington, just enjoy it! If it's going to crash, it's going to crash, and there's nothing you can do about it as a passenger, so just enjoy the adreneline rush and realise that it's probably turning on the ladies around you in the same way that horror movies do. That's official Wellingtonista advice.

  • Hard News: Recreations,

Excellent, is there a particular season it's safe to land an airplane there?

    Too soon!

  • Hard News: Recreations,

But ... exactly whose room have you been in to see the bath anyway?

As a Wellingtonista, it is my job to know everything about everything in this city. Duh.

  • Hard News: Recreations,

Seriously, I mean this in the nicest possible way Russell, but what the hell is wrong with you and everyone from Avatar? With baths that awesome in the hotel, who has time to think about going online? Sheesh.

  • Busytown: Yes he can (or: Is McCain able?),

Because I'm far too busy and important to do my own research, can someone please tell me what the likelihood of Clinton taking Obama for VP or vice versa is, depending on who wins the nomination?

  • Hard News: And on into a whole new year,

Oh, and a nice vineyard you missed up by Matakana is Brick Bay. Nice little Noel Lane glass house stretched out over the lake and a sculpture trail up through the surrounding native bush...

Yeah, the crawling traffic meant that we ran out of time to get to them all before 5pm. If the man at Heron's Flight hadn't been so thorough or if there hadn't been people at Hyperion taking up the whole shed when we got there, we could have made it, but I suppose there's always a next-time!

  • Hard News: And on into a whole new year,

To date, that is possibly my perfect website. Milkshake reviews - I KNEW the interweb had a purpose...

Awww cheers Gareth, we aim to please. And we're looking for more contributors. I mean, the Wellingtonista has a team of about 15...

  • Hard News: Panic,

Bruce Hoult informs me that Olivia Suicide (aka Olivia Ball), the site's former programming lead (and model) is ... ta-da! -- a New Zealander. Kiwi pride.

Psst, Russell, you'd get more 'down with the kids' points if you weren't many years behind with last names!

  • 08 Internet NZ: Where now?,

Can the bearpit please be filled with people in bear costumes, rather than actual bears? And can we please have a tiki bar perched on the edge to watch the show from?

  • Hard News: Notes for a Big Day Out,

Fair enogh, but that meant you missed possibly the best band at the whole show ...

No, didn't you hear me when I said that I did most definitely see the Arcade Fire?
    *sticks her tongue out petulantly*

Some, uh, older BDO-goers do it with the air-conditioned comfort of a hospitality room, but that's cheating.

In 2006 and 2007, a lovely friend got me into the Immortals' Lounge, so last year after someone forced me to go see Eskimo Joe at some ungodly early hour, we spent three hours sitting in arm chairs doing the crosswords before Lily Allen. This year, I wasn't sure if I could handle going back with all the plebs, but luckily the timetable meant it was deal-able. And besides, I would have done a lot more and paid a lot more to see the Arcade Fire. Insert more fan-girl squealing here.
