I was pissed off when we got there at 4.45 to see Battles and then found that they'd been moved to 6pm opposite the Arcade Fire, but oh my god oh my god oh my god oh my god oh my god the Arcade Fire were amazing, so emotional and spiritual and just like, wow. Wow wow wow.
And we watched Bjork and then went home. Hurray for being old enough to realise that you don't have to stick around all day if you're not that interested in any other bands.

Yeah, when I lived in Japan, my mother (who is a potter) would frequently travel back from NZ with many large packets of white powder (glaze ingredients) in her suitcase. I miss having a diplomatic passport...

I'm sure I saw Russell snaffle it on your behalf. From memory it was an umbrella.
There is both a certificate and a very very sexy trophy, which is not an umbrella but rather a spinning top, designed by the lovely Dan Emery and made by our terrific sponsors Ponoko. If Russell didn't pick up your top and certificate, I have them somewhere at my house and will get them to you once DPF has given Che back his mug. And no, that's not a come-on line.

I'm stoked with the BDO timetable this year - I can get there at 4.45pm for Battles and leave at 9.10 after Bjork. Perhaps it's possible to survive without Immortal Lounge passes after all!

It's a strange genre of magazine - the kind that deliberately attempts to go for a rool high claaaass reader. But the main hallmark of these magazines seems to be really poor subediting. Not just apostrophe catastrophes, but overall sloppy writing.
