  • Hard News: An excellent evening in Newtown, in reply to Islander,

but without larger cooking facilities than we have (e.g yer average cast-iron frying pan)

    Hi Islander
On receiving some snapper from friends when we were up north, I wrapped them individually in foil(with dob of butter and trickle of honey and lemon juice) and placed on the edge of the fire we had goin'. Threw a french stick crammed with garlic and le beurre in foil also, edge, fire also. Best oven, t'was.
Solved the "no kitchen" scenario. And the fish was divine.
    mmmmm :)

  • Hard News: About Arie, in reply to Hilary Stace,

Well that has given me pause of my coffee (a really good one too) to reflect on the benefits of PAS in the morn :)

    Fabulous

    Absolutely!

Actually if she can order about angry emails, I want a reply to mine!

  • Hard News: About Arie,

    Can’t get away myself, either,

    Ahh. such is life.

Seriously, it’s become so that threats of defamation are the last vestige of the scoundrel (c.f. Lhaws). I’m fresh off winning two defamation cases, I might as well go for the trifecta.

As I said Before to Stephen Judd, go on live a little. This can be a constant life style .Go for the marathon. :)

  • Hard News: About Arie, in reply to izogi,

Absolutely, because who knows where it will end up, although this doesn't make me feel too positive.

  • Hard News: About Arie,

(if I ever get away from this desk, which is looking more and more unlikely at this point, damnit).

Go on, live a little, get up from the desk, step away from your computer. :)

  • Hard News: The digital switch-off, in reply to Che Tibby,

    likewise, as yet no answer.

Me neither. When I mentioned this after a lengthy conversation t'other night with a friend of a friend, she mentioned she only ever voted for National and abruptly left her seat and the conversation, at which point I realised I was surrounded by those types and suddenly felt very alone, but god it felt good to have the moral high ground. :)

  • Hard News: About Arie, in reply to chris,

So you’re against police beating people, but you’re all for slapping on cutesy patronizing monikers because it sounds kinda happy? Exemplary.

Point taken Chris, I am against ANYBODY beating anyone (other than mutual consent for personal reasons). I do not however equate your comparison as being disrespectful of the same degree. Your offence is your offence, and as you say and I will accept, as you were.
But just to add, anyone who is alive today could claim their life is their work and many people get their names shortened, often from friends who do as a term of endearment without it suggesting otherwise although it can happen. I do not see that anyone here intended to insult.
