Yes exactly RB, that was kinda my point. So far all of this is speculation being reported. I think it is awfully unfair for this to get all this speculation without due process. The cops (for now ) have been the most responsible saying "nothing".

    Hear Hear!
Also the only honest thing I can remember Key ever saying (and I assume it was when he was younger at PM and more naive)was his admitting he asked Helen what to do when meeting International leaders.
And let's face it, Goff may blunder ,but he admits when he's wrong,( I'll call it learning his new position)and Key has had his fair share too (I'll call his sliming along , smiling assassin was his own term for himself I hear)

    It's almost laughable :)
Considering this was a person's report from a bus stop, who thought being O week ,it was probably normal. Near the area. I mean, I could suggest Hughes got angry at the guy stripping off and coming into his room so kicked him out and wouldn't let him back in to get his clothes, and then the police show up and take "items" (the guys clothes ) to return them to the guy who is back at the cop shop naked.
    BUT I WOULDN'T!!

My uninformed guess would be that swinging voters decide on the day, and for a Party to try to recruit those people, is pretty difficult with the ambiguity. So a Party aims for a middle ground in places where they might claw that voter. As you see, the Parties that don't aim midway, tend to be labelled extremist.
Depending on your own ideology, can make a dedicated voter when one sees the Party remains true to their allegiance, hence red and blue and green and black etc.
I do think though that, to be as well informed as possible helps one to make better decisions for themselves because it is personal.
If ever in doubt, email any politician and ask questions. What you just asked could be copied over to any of them and they are meant to answer. Although Judith Collins wont respond to me.:)

At 18, “boy” is a description loaded with all sorts of judgments.

Followed by " recently out of school" to add to the loading.
Totally agree with this you say Rex. Totally understand, having been on the receiving end myself although not of a sexual implication, still similar as you.

At the time, Key had known about the allegations for a fortnight – the same length of time that Goff kept his own counsel on Hughes.

If they sat a bit more than once a fortnight we might see this "length of time" taken, shortened. Jus' sayin'

I think it’s fair to say that Key had far less to lose by throwing Worth under the bus than Goff did with respect to Hughes, his popular party whip. OTOH, Goff chose to make political capital capital our of Key’s prevarication.

Of which Goff admits on reflection, he did wrong then,. after realising what is involved when one is being investigated because of a complaint.Remember, the Police told him "a couple of weeks" which meant it could have been sorted before the next sitting, which would then have been ok if it was an unfounded allegation, which,Goff had been assured of.
Also, I suspect Key wanted to lose Worth from the day he put up his own Billboards in Epsom. He wasn't meant to do that, it went against Key's plan for Epsom.

The only paedophile I’ve ever knowingly encountered was an extremely hard-working old man who came from a Scandanavian country, and who didnt speak very good English. When he shifted in with his relations, the man of the house went all round the neighbourhood visiting houses that homed little boys, warning them that his uncle had a history of cuddling & kissing kids. What he didnt mention at the time was that his uncle had a mental age of about 7…And what I vividly remember as a young adolescent was how he used to sit down in the road and cry after boys used to run away and throw things from a ‘safe’ distance at him.

Oh Islander, you do help me often, to like my own compassion which, many times, I question because of other disapproval. Thank-you, my temperature is fine.

Not without the paper meeting their obligations as a responsible publisher. There is no license to say whatever you like about groups of people without facing consequences.

True Bro', absolutely agree which was my point of complaining every time he writes. I don't read the guy. I think he is vile, anytime I have seen him so I ignore him but at least complaints to the Editor is tarnishing his reputation too and that might be effective enough to move him now that RB did bring it to his attention. He is now johnny on the spot with this.
