Just catching a bit of the news surrounding a new stand-alone authority - the Canterbury Earthquake Recovery Authority.
Announcing that it will work alongside the Christchurch City council, with Ngai Tahu and Local business people having a right to appeal any decisions made on their behalf... Gee ta. How 'bout just including them in the first place?
I like what Bob Parker said (not),saying it will allow for the right mix of Government, council and resident involvement.
I'll hold my breath..... -

No, grumpy now thanks. I know what diversion is. I don't want to wait until he is sentenced at all. This 'making an example"(remember the "cellmate" wish) is extreme, and unnecessary.It is cruel to say the least.

I've seen diversion for plenty of things. What is the motive here to refuse? I'd rather see Arie out on diversion than say, the Maunganui student out and about after what she achieved at school to another student. Will the cops be laying charges against her ? I wonder.
Now I'm grumpy at them again. One step forward ,two steps back in my book.

I suspect that Hide also does the same thing, and is especially nice to Keith Locke. In Epsom the Green + Labour vote is I think within spitting distance of the National + Act vote, and all it would take is a few disaffected blue rinse National matrons to sniff decidedly and vote Labour.
I did read somewhere (can't remember where, blame the usual, brain etc.) recently that a true blue Act strategic voter was asked by Mr Key, "if I told you to hold your nose and vote for Hide, would you? She replied No! Friends eh? Gotta love 'em :)

Yes I watch it IS.I am quite engaged although others will beg to differ on that one ;) Plus I ain't blaming anyone, just suggesting that better information could enlighten people to make informed decisions. At the end of the day your choice is yours and best of luck to ya but it does actually effect me and everyone else in the melting pot. I'd rather we got to choose with good information and not pure ignorance.
