I note the NZ Herald site travels a day forward with their cartoon roundup today (the 21st) as well as inventing a new ’sheepish’ sounding date the 22th!!

Meanwhile over at Fairfax, Stuff have enlisted some geezer named Patrick Whittle (whose PhD thesis apparently addressed the egalitarian political implications of human evolutionary history, including sex/gender differences. ) to mansplain why ’Women are marching because the world really is becoming a scarier place for them’ – he really hammers the point home by getting Katherine ’Kate’ Sheppard’s name completely wrong :

Even when ya let them know not to propagate 'alternative facts' (or surname spellings) they still only fix half of them - seemingly Fairfax cannot afford 'find-and-replace' functions on their computers...Here's hoping a second comment will get through to them before the day is out.
(I'm starting to wonder if I should invoice them for 'unsolicited proofreading services')...and I will admit that Sheppard was born a 'Catherine' - but she preferred and used 'Katherine' insofar as I can find - so I'll defer to her choices.

To be fair he’s been through an ordeal recently, but it’s indisputable that things have gone to the dogs when only the most pronounced error in a given paragraph now merits inclusion on The End of MSM thread:
Jackson’s likely to be joined by his former Alliance colleague Laila Haare, who incredibly linked arms with Kim Dotcom at the last election, and who now acknowledges that the association tarnished her image. It seems it’s not tarnished enough for be part of the Labour team though.

Another Stuff-up from one of our biggest media outlets. This glaring typo is on Stuff's front page right now. And the same error is repeated throughout the story.
Memo to Fairfax subs... the word is "Parapente" -- para refers to anything related to parachutes, and pente is the French for "slope", referring to the method of takeoff. It's pretty basic.
