I love this lady, Anais Mitchell, she has a wonderful new album out ‘Young Man in America’, but this clip is one of the songs from Hadestown. This is her just doing it straight to camera on her farm

My favourite track on the album is this one, ‘Genesis’, which they appear to be giving away as a free download on the site. I think it’s what it would sound like if Clannad and Kraftwerk got together for an orgy. Erm, in a good way. It’s lovely, girly, electronica. That’s what I’m trying to say.

You’re right, Craig, it’s a bit like “Autobahn” in a New Beetle. The full 22-minute album cut of it.

And on a related note, Giorgio Moroder boasted the following on 1977’s From Here To Eternity: “Only electronic keyboards were used in the making of this album.”

And Manuel Göttsching couldn’t find any light music to play on long plane trips in 1981… so necessity was the mother of invention.

"All Songs Considered" is what public radio should be (and in this case, is) delivering. Despite being underfunded. Despite constant attacks by conservative politicians to reduce its funding even further.
How do they do it?
With sponsorship from local companies, major corporations and private citizens.
First thing I do when I hire a car in the States is to head for the 90 (+/- 2) MHz region on the dial.

Amazing talent. So good to see a very young person so into their passion.
Tonight I watched one of my sons discover a new love. I smiled my face tired as I watched him have his first lesson on the Highland 'pipes. He bloomed as he quickly got the fingering on the chanter, and he is still buzzing. Neat; one of those special experiences I'll always remember, and I think he will too.

And Bobby Womack has a new album upcoming. That in itself should be enough. But the crisp modern production means it’s warm honey on chunky buttery goodness. I’m looking forward to this.
