Which National party genuis thougt "lets make party funding our top issue through 2006" knowing that this was waiting to come out.

"If a party contests the party vote then its total party election expenses (including GST) cannot exceed $1 million plus $20,000 for each electorate candidate nominated by the party.
If a registered party does not contest the party vote then its total election expenses cannot exceed $20,000 (including GST) for each electorate candidate of the party.
In both the above cases these party limits are separate from the expense limits applying to any electorate candidates' campaigns."

The EB are "allowed" to use computers & e-mail for business not pleasure, so I assume god gave his/her/its permission for the e-mails to be sent?
-
David, Che, James,
yikes - could this be the end of Bassett too? I guess not, afterall, Bill O'Reilly got away with being outed as a Republican.
But if it were, I might actually start reading the Dom again - for years I've been put off by the chance of my line of sight accidently plonking down in a piece of Bassett excretia.
-
Been trying to find a column by Basset saying what a great speech Orewa 1 was (without disclosing he wrote it)
James, will this do?
-
Can't wait to see John Key endlessly repeating the "No, of course I didn't open the e-mail" line.
I agree with Tony Kennedy - Bill English must be gleefully rubbing his hands together. The National Party sure is a nest of vipers.
-
The big lie just exploded in the National Parties face.
-
How interesting James. Does that mean that National will be purchasing advertising for charities for the next two years? *g*

I look forward to many Kiwiblog posts explaining in painstaking - yet somewhat opaque - detail why Nationals massive election fraud is totally different from Labours massive election fraud.
Sagenz has also been busy over at Tumeke...
-
Paul: what election fraud? None of these plans were ever implemented as part of the election campaign.
-
Kevin Moar: I just called Unity Books (having visited earlier this afternoon on a hunt for the book).
They told me that the book won't be available anywhere until Monday because (quote) "Whitcoulls have asked Craig Potton Publishers not to release the booka anywhere in the country until Monday so that no other bookstore gets the book before Whitcoulls"
If that's really true, I certainly know where I won't be buying the book on Monday.
Cr@p!

If Clark can stop grinning long enough she can now pop up on the evening news with her sternest face on and announce that she has asked the auditor general and the police to investigate these very serious claims.
Perhaps also new legislation to ensure such a thing never happens again.
Cut National off at the knees.
They nearly got away with it too, if it hadn't been for those pesky kids and that scooby, scooby doo!

I have a suggestion for Part II of Paul Goldsmith's Brash hagiography: "The Donald: From Don Juan to Don Gone"
(in Three Easy Steps Off the Plank.)Craig Y.

"Whitcoulls have asked Craig Potton Publishers not to release the booka anywhere in the country until Monday so that no other bookstore gets the book before Whitcoulls"
By monday nobody will need to buy the book!
Stupid, stupid, stupid.
-
Malcolm just like CIA was never in central america eh?
-
Oh to be a fly on the wall at the Caucus meeting on Monday. Interesting that Judith Collins has put her name forward as a possible Deputy Leader. Did she know how that Gerry Brownlee was up to his neck in this?
-
Compie - yep, looks suspicious. Certainly leaves Brash's credibility in tatters. Demostrates fraud? I don't think so.
-
" Who reckons "Liarbour" won't be such a funny joke any more?"
Well I reckon it's only just become funny.
-
there once was a politician called Brash
who got into bed with rightwing wackos who had cash
in the end he didn't use protection
and got a nasty Hagar infection
and now all of National will develop the rash. -

Aagh.. but who played Fred, Velma, Daphne, Shaggy and the Scoobmeister in this version.
This is such fun :-)

Isn't that rather the point?
The Election advertising rules - summary clearly states that Non-broadcast advertising promoting party vote or attacking party or candidate must be authorised by the Party secretary and
Authorisation must be in writing. In addition, the advertisement when broadcast or published must state the name and business or residential address of the person directing it to be published. A Post Office box or website address is insufficient.
It's also classed as a Party expense which must be notified according to the rules and must not exceed the amount allowed by law.
Since this was clearly not the case with the Brethren pamphlets, and the whole thing was done in secret in order to circumvent the rules (well, it was supposed to be a secret), I would say it's pretty clear that not only was it part of the plan, it was part of a fraudulent and illegal plan.
Ooopsie!

Helen's definitely Daphne.
She's the hot 1.

(Not that anyone's going to dare say any such thing, but I can dream.) Sorry, but I do hope Labour seriously over-plays the faux outrage, as Cullen has been over the last couple of days regarding National's GST bill.

Gerry must be a porky Shaggy...
-
To paraphrase Idiot Savant, Labour just needs to sit back and pass the popcorn.
