This is my earworm, because this is what our household is all about right now:
In the toddler sense, not the "picking up men for booty" sense. (Both are equally valid, of course. I ain't judging.)

The appearance this week of the first track from Jon Toogood’s new solo project, The Adults, took me by surprise. I had no idea such a thing existed – let alone that it included Ladi 6, Shayne Carter, Gary Sullivan and Tiki Taane, all on one track.
Shayne P Carter is playing old stuff at the King's Arms mid-May. Looking forward to it already. 'Big Fat Elvis' anyone?

Have heard that song twice on bFm and squeed on both occasions. Similarly when I heard about this.
Apparently seeing Jon Toogood and Shayne Carter at Arch Hill gig with The Clean was no coincidence.

Like, where did The Adults come from? Because the last time I checked they did not exist then suddenly there they are, fully formed and with a sweet music video for us to enjoy. Fave part of "Nothing To Lose" - when Mr Carter's tense and wiry guitar breaks through the smooth rhythm and spews its attitude all over the song.
As for the Beastie Boys, this is how you get older: you bring the cowbell with you.

LOL, pic 1 is my desktop wallpaper since a week or so ago.
The ones with black on one side or corner are the most functional though, ’cos you can put your icons there for visibility.

I'm loving The Adults. Utterly surprised by it. And Gravy Rainbow has been great for watching local hipsters turn themselves inside out trying to distance themselves from it.
Since buying a 16 GB MicroSD card for my phone, I now have my entire music collection on the go with me, so I've been relistening to stuff I forgot I even had. This one song jumped out at me and it's been on high rotate ever since. Sigur Rós - Hún Jörð (Hassbræður remix) from the very early Von brigði remix album. They're often written off as pretentious ethereal wank, but I think this track does a pretty good job of showcasing the underlying guitar-nerd rock band roots of the project:

So, '84 & '85 concert dates with the International Harvesters.
Grey Riders was stonkin' (and maybe others). Some of it's maybe a little on the trad side, for me.I'm really looking forward to Archives Vol. 2 ( Time Fades Away 2, Chrome Dreams, Homegrown, etc.) :)
