Found an old one, pretty sure I haven't posted it before - fleeing the storm.

That was a sight that mightily impressed my boys as we drove past. Why were they all lined up for Christmas, like a row of gifts? Were they having their own party?

Hey, I wonder if that's a dead one of these velvet seaweeds.

The other day I saw a dark shape in the water. It turned out to be a cloud of dark sand, broken-down mussel shells I think. I walked through it and it felt both soft and gritty against my legs. It sparkled in the sun.

Foucault's Pendulum. This is the one in Paris that the novel of the same name refers.

    Foucault’s Pendulum.

Missed my chance to see that earlier this year. The novel has lasted long in my memory since I read it in 1989. I failed at a second attempt recently though. My brain must be more cluttered, or addled, or both.
