  • Field Theory: All Misty-Eyed,

Stuart, it seems to me that Messsam is more 8 than 6, but as Foster is determined to include Luaki, he makes way. I reckon he'd (Messam) would go very well from the back of the scrum.

And yes, FA Cup finals are a nightmare to stay awake for, with late start time, drinking, NZ 'experts' live in the studio, cagey play from the teams and / or extra time all factors.

  • Field Theory: All Misty-Eyed,

    Points:

It's a very South African thing to go drop-goal crazy, innit? See also Janie de Beer v the poms in 1999.

The Chiefs are up against it alright, let's home that playing in bright sunshine instead of a wet / dark Waikato stadium doesn't stuff them up too much. They've been underdogs, well, ever since week three, so no difference there.

Messam may be the answer at #8. Luaki is stopping him playing there for the Chiefs. He scored a nice try on Friday, alright, but I'm still not convinced.

And yes, the strategy is to keep drinking Hadyn. Maybe start a bit later than normal, though.

  • Field Theory: The Super 135,

Nice one - I had similar thoughts.

    Collar up, for sure.

  • Field Theory: True Colours,

OK, so *maybe* the move back to white isn't *completely* market driven - but the move to grey in the first place was. Simply, that jersey looked quite good with jeans, and they'd have shifted truckloads if we'd won in 2007.

I'm still not convinced we need an alternate strip at all. Playing in black, we only ever need it when playing Scotland in Scotland (and they farked that up last time) and France when Nike are playing silly buggers.

  • Field Theory: A time of imagination,

LB - Duminy? Yeah. He dominated that SA v Aus series, with a couple of magic innings under pressure to help win the test series, and looked very at home in the one dayers and T20. He just looks bloody comformtable at the crease, he's going to score a ton of runs.

I want Woodcock 'cos the Chiefs have the flashy backline / loose fowards dept. sussed, we just can;t get the ball to them.

  • Field Theory: A time of imagination,

    For my teams:

Black Caps - Duminy, even though we probably need Shane Bond, or Zaheer Khan, even.

All Blacks - That Argentinian Half Back Agustín Pichot.

Tottenham - If I can't have Jurgen Klinsmann and Teddy back, then I want Messi, even though we probably *need* a centre back and 'bite yer legs' midfielder. Messi is a very Tottenham draft pick.

Chiefs - Is there a reverse draft? Can I send Luaki to the Hurricanes? Otherwise I'd like Tony Woodcock, please.

New Zealand Rugby in general - I'd like every player that's coasting over in the UK to come back and play in the NPC like they're meant to.

Shaun of the Dead: I didn't like it. There I said it.

What? SOTD is in, like, my top... one. Bah!

I loved Signs, I though it was a fairly plausible look at how alien invasion shit would go down. SPOILER: Apart from the water. /SPOILER

My personal top Horror experience was seeing Nightmare On Elm Streets 1-4 at a quadruple screening in Hamilton. Love the cheesy 80s stuff like Friday 13th / NOES / Halloween etc.

How do I get my mitts on this Hampster flick, then?

Films that have *actually* freaked me out include:
    - Silver Bullet - well I was 11.
    - Seven - there's some twisted shit in that, and the ending is suspense-city. Fincher should do more of this kind of thing.
    - The Shining - like everyone else. Book really freaked me out at age 12-ish too (I was de-sensitised early)
    - The Omen - yeah, watched this too young also. There's a pattern emerging here.

I love a good horror-comedy also, eg Toxic Avenger, Shaun of the Dead, Motel Hell, Re-Animator, etc. And Evil Dead. Can't forget Evil Dead, even though bits of it could go in the 'freak me out' section above.

Has anyone ever seen Tremors? I thought that was genius.
