  • OnPoint: AIA and Maori Seats,

Why would ref to the TOW (priciple) be included if it wasn't a Consitutional Document?

The kindness & good will of benevolent Govts?

Once legislation is ruled upon in Court to abide by the TOW (priciples or word) as done by Judge Skelton it becomes Common Law and the TOW was used as a Constitutional Document, judgements made because of that status.

I'm not a lawyer but this is my clear understanding.

Sorry fumbling around preping for tomorrow - can't find court no.s etc.

    But here's a wiki link

I would argue the TOW is a constitutional document, and acknowledge it hasn't been ratified into NZ Law, but is now Part of our Common Law.

With references to the TOW in various acts and those acts having been ruled upon in favour of including the TOW provisions Judge Skelton on an aspect of the RMA being the 1st one that came to mind. Established TOW as Common Law in NZ.

  • Hard News: All this and more,

Just squizzed through the headlines online and Jane Phare really should write for Investigate.

Fair enough mulit-millionaire holds a private function at HQ while his business goes under. New worthy if salacious.

But to harass one poor lass over at least two weeks & that she may or may not have worked at HQ is horrid.

Did she do the same for the laundry service or the alcohol contractor?

Chicks fight dirty & this sounds like a vendetta, has Janes hubby strayed (I don't know anything about Jane by the way), did she once vie for the affections of the Blue Chip director? Really ugly stuff Jane Phare.

  • OnPoint: AIA and Maori Seats,

I'm keen on a second house or some sort of constitutional hold over our elected dictatorship that exists under FPP or a majority MMP Government.

Paul under international law there is not an issue of translation. The Maori version is superior due to the fact it is in the language of the land it was written in.

To me the "legal nullity" and the "principles of TOW" are on a continum as is much of the Treaty discourse of Seattler Govts dealing with Maori. Any payment or return of stolen land is only ever 1-10% of the value of the original loss. This is only setting up future generations to do better than was done now.

Really appreciate the conversation - Cheers guys

Can anyone answer where landcorp land came from?

    Cheers for that.

We have Disrict Councils with responsibility for land use & Regional Councils with responsbility for Air & Water.

Maybe a similar structure can be created where self-determination, becomes part of this in parralell to Central Govt, operating as an overlay of geography as the Maori seats currnetly do?

Che I would be far more interested in your views on soverignty as shown by the Scott Parliment but I'll follow the herring.

You're a bit too harsh on Cameron. 8 hrs artillary bombardment prior to any attack is pleanty of softening up. That Rawiri Puhirake had dug cover from it and built in concelment in the Pa itself to make the Pa their killing ground was brilliance.

In realising this was a trap he had no answer for his decision not to send in more men to die was a rational response.

The greatest defeat sure, but Cameron was simply out smarted not an idoit.

    Maori who set the ambushes

"if john returns to having ties, some of us might switch back"

If Campbell takes off the tie then take off the suit.

The Sports Crews have various branded shirts but a suit without a tie is obsolete.

"But British and Colonial commanders were in charge, hence some of the shocking ambushes that they walked into. "

Kyle that is not fair. Guerilla wars are never won without total saturation of troops.

Gotta give credit where it is due rather than blame Colonial forces for falling into traps.

"Maori didn't really consider Pakeha government to extend into their own, rural territories ..."

Kyle I agree and for that matter so does the Treaty of Waitangi.

"The participants in the Wars were still fighting for independent control of their regions..."

Which was (and is) their legal entitlement.

The Maori seats should be disbanded once Tino Rangatiratanga has been instituted.

As Che said above the Maori seats were not of the make or wanting of Maori and were only given any real meaning under MMP.

Soverignty is not Seccession & we should look to the UK & the Scott Parliment for a 1st world working model.
