Idiotsavant: Read your blog. For those of us not in the Beltway, it is a great read/perspective. Thanks

The speculation surrounding the Labour support for Winston is diverse. Expediency would have called for Labour to be shed of Peters. I do not think that the reason would be that Peters would throw dirt as many right wingers suggest. As Peters said the remaining enquiries are about the NZF rather than Peters. What are the positive reasons for Labour hanging on to Peters?

Saw elsewhere "A vote for National is a Vote for ACT!!" Or have I got that back to front? or "A vote for Key is a vote for Douglas"

By the way hunters in NZ use silencers on rifles to avoid scaring the other targets eg rabbits.

That is where the line is becoming so thin.
Methinks, with technology what it is today, assumption, presumption, supposition, and MSM combined have drawn the line well before any courtroom.Sofie: Well said again and I still think there are recent occasions when the accused is hammered long before a defence can be mounted. What would it take to reign in MSM abuse (to my mind anyway) of justice?

So just to be clear Russell: is it ok to prejudice someone's right to a fair trial (eg all Lockett's co-defendants) as long as there is enough public interest? I fear you have left too much dangling here:
That is still the question to me. On a wider front the fundamental belief in "innocent until proven guilty" and "allowing due process", should be reasons to not publish. In this case of the Dom, it is authenticated documentation, where-as the Veitch and Peters the information was not. Perhaps all holds should be off. Publish whatever you like and call it "in the public interest."

I stayed on Prime after the great Warriors win to watch Rodney at work. Impressions count. When Hide was asked if he had anything to hide over the question of his own Party Funding, I thought for a moment that he showed some anxiety at the thought the spotlight might be turned on him. Perhaps not. And yet….

Actually it is great to hear of you son's curiosity, as it is fundamentally the province of intelligence. Bright kids know the answers but very bright kids ask the questions. "The Question is the Answer". Sadly observations show that it is very rare for kids to ask questions in classrooms. Sometimes actively discouraged.

The Parliament Timetable on the Live Broadcast on-line shows that September 9,10,11, are sitting days and then 23 as only other day set aside. ???
