Hard News: Campbell Live: A Disturbance…, in reply to
But that would require someone at TVNZ to admit they got it wrong with Hosking.
With the ratings 7 Sharp has (which is what Christie et al wants) and the value and sway a 5 year old viewer seems to register, TVNZ wont comit Hara-Kiri. TVNZ ratings says to Kevin Kenrick, "For Me, we beat 3". Those at TVNZ who may dislike the arrogant twerp on 7 Sharp, have no say in his or the shows demise unfortunately. Yep the diet for kids on TV is hypocrisy hubris and Hosking. TV3 have Crims, Cops and the need for speed. Advice tips for your children to go off to bed and dream about.

Hard News: The epitome of reason, in reply to
Heard a builder say that the best timber in New Zealand is sitting on the wharf waiting to be shipped offshore as whole logs.
I know Builders and I know Truck drivers and I know some present and past Forestry workers. ALL of them say the best timber is on the wharves. ALL of them are a part of logging it, getting it there, or have to build with inferior choices. I just watched an entire forest felled at the end of the road, all of it heading to Marsden Wharf. Take a drive through the Brynderwyns, Waipu Cove side is felled, gone to the Wharf and as logs, worth little compared to processed on return, because ,you guessed it, it comes back worth top dollar! Why anyone in Govt. would think that giving China farms and information, and quality cheap timber would have no effect on our 2 industries, should have their heads read by a shrink.

Along with John Campbell, how many others are going to just walk away from TV3 in the next few months?
They are all between a rock and a hard place. With digital transition comes fewer jobs and many at both TVNZ or 3 are clinging to their jobs whilst they still have one. If another job emerges elsewhere, there may be an exit but to leave without is financial insecurity also and welfare benefits aren't what they used to be as well we know, plus some TV jobs are becoming redundant. There will be no replacement as witnessed with Fairfax. That or try reinventing oneself every contract renewal. Look how many places Media Take (and it's earlier named programmes) has moved to. I'm starting to think PRIME is the safest Channel.
I think TV3 believe that Julie Christie is the bees knees because of her success with her crap TV ex- production Co. With that comes her power at the top so now it will only be programs she understands, her stuff, her friends stuff . Weldon, well as this old NBR article states, seems to do whatever he wants. The comments on the article seem quite informative as well as to his popularity. So 2 people at the top who are self absorbed with the ability to hire and fire and with Weldon ,PM friendly. It also suggests to me the old boys network is alive and well. -

The Plutocrats must be confident, they are giving up even pretending.
I hope Maori TV is safe . There is no confidence and supply agreement in Parliament with the Maori Party. I see Georgina te Heuheu is Chairman. The ex National Ministers seem to waltz into pretty nice jobs. If nothing else, performance as Ministers should give people a general idea of their direction . I'm thinking of Katherine RICH now, wonder where that came from.....

It would appear JC cared too much as suspected by many of us who believed he upset the Government and its lackeys in the top jobs.Let's face it.Everything is in place now for John Key, who is influencing everything. Freedom of expression as long as he approves.
The show's ongoing coverage of Pike River, where 29 men died in a 2010 explosion at a West Coast coal mine, was specifically singled out by management as having led to viewer "fatigue".

I think there is a plan for a more sophisticated system where companies will report payroll to IRD in realtime and be issued adjustments. (There is also a privacy issue where you might not want one employer to know about your side job and how much they pay you) .
Winz ,who insisted my friend had a certain amount of work ,which, when the holiday season finished, also became sporadic, made her ring them weekly so they didn't give her undeserved money, which is taxed, so that is one way to determine income with adjustments.

The above is a bizarre batshit crazy scenario, but honestly is it more bizarre than using Slater to tar your opponents?
I'm behind your scenario 100% but then you also know I'm probably batshit crazy meself. Still, sounds textbook to me. Once this Govt. started to unravel, everything else has fallen into line. Hager cemented many of my views as well. I don't think he is batshit crazy.

I just want to say I am disappointed in these comments. Nothing but polite, erudite, intelligent discussion. What the fuck is the internet coming to.
Some of us went to school to learn . Unlike Geoff Lealand , some of us even knew what the Flag looked like. welcome to PAS Girl. :)
