  • Hard News: So far from trivial,

I'm ready to put Magic coach Noeline Taurua alongside Buck Shelfords torn scrotum for coaching in the 1/4 finals 3days after giving birth.

I tend to think their priorities were wrong, but equally so.

I recon Ellis could get Ridge to smoke crystals of pure uric-acid & pay for the pleasure of it.

  • Hard News: So far from trivial,

    What's happening here?

If you hire muscle you've got to let them do the job, not take out you're frustrations on a young lady.

If they were fighting on the dance floor and he was removing her from the pub, you've gotta ask would he have done that if it was one of the English Players?
No is the simple answer there (they would crush him).

So it is not a simple removal of a drunk patron, it is a bloke taking out his frustrations on a chick.

Part of the art of bouncing is first to talk them to the door (I have seen a guy dance a drunk out), then comes co-ordinated support from the crew to physically remove some one. Always two on one and where possible a female to assist or witness as chicks get dirty real quick. In a large bar I once worked where removing drunks was common, I would have removed about 5 women in 3 yrs, but they tend to kick up quite a fuss & everyone in the ind. knows this so, it's kid gloves and a team effort.

Am I the only one feeling sorry for Craig Dowd?

I've never listened to Dowd and wouldn't put much weight on his opinion, but equally I can't recall the great works of de Villiers.

Rather than racist, de Villiers 70kgs is comical in comparison to the size of the players around him, especially as it's the frontrow that he has an issue with.

de Villiers has taken over from White, who was great (better than our coach anyway) and de Villiers hasn't done anything except play with children (age grade teams).

Looks political, but that's a Sth African issue. He is comical in size & so I don't see calling him a puppet racist. I suppose it comes down to if Dowd has a history of making other comments like this, so you guys in AKL might shed some light here?

Sports Cafe Team served a standdown period after the A class drugs episode.

If I remeber rightly Ridge & Cockroft were fingerpointing back then as well.

  • Hard News: Consumer,

The market can't solve everything or in my opinion anything. Trading of fishing quotas hasn't worked - massive cuts in fishing have just been announced. Why was this done = fishermen are lying thieves & bicatch was 60% higher when observers when on board as opposed to not.

The only QMS that has anychance is when it is not individual but community based. Also will any trade system also follow the fishing ind. lead and ban any producers under $10K per ann?

Wind and solar can feed the grid & don't need to be stored in batteries.

We need to move away from weather board homes and use whole logs as Mark mentioned above.

Timber only takes carbon out of the atmosphere while growing, mature trees start to put it back into the atmosphere.

I'm into sci-Fi too, but burying carbon is up there with the script from Broken-Arrow about a coppermine holding in radiation - fantasy crossover stuff.

The key to this is reduction of waste, so doesn't fit into the shit metaphor.

"When I was a kid" we had reuseable milk bottles, softdrink bottles, & beer bottles. Takeaway pakaging was last weeks sport section - ink should be food grade & we can go back to that.
