The voting public is not smart enough to know what is good for them, and must be led to the correct answer by their intellectual and wealthy betters.

That's never an argument, that's just contradiction!

Legal Beagle: Election Fact Check #3: It…, in reply to
Have you ever lived in one place for at least a month? If so, then then the electorate in which that address now is, is your electorate (you can have a different postal address). If you've been a complete itinerant for your entire time in New Zealand, there are still rules around where you should register, and you can register.
My father has retired into his housebus, and while he does stay in various spots for more than a month at a time (<cough> Matauribay </cough>) he is registered to vote in Ham East because he uses my place as a maildrop, despite never having spent more than a couple of consecutive days in the 'Tron.
Does that make him illegal? And even if so, who would care? -

You do not need to re-register every year (or even every three). We run a continuous enrolment system, whereby people are enrolled until there is reason to remove them. Before each election, the Electoral Enrolment Centre sends every registered voter a letter, but if the enrolment details are unchanged, nothing needs to be returned.
"If you do not receive this letter, please return it with your information updated"

I am, in fact, married to my hairdresser. Or more accurately, my wife runs the clippers over my head every now and then. Mostly because I miss bits at the back if I try it solo. No problems with hairdressers, just too cheapass to pay for a number one clipper cut when I have sweatshop labour at home.

Hard News: The Sound of Music, in reply to
Apparently the guy brought in to run it at one stadium was enthusing about one particular tune: Blur's 'Song 2'. i.e., the most overplayed ground music in all sporting history.
I thought that was Chumbawamba's Tubthumping. Or is that only at the League? "I get knocked down, then I get up again..."

I do like the pumas shirt, but only if it comes with the headgear their fans were wearing - not the baby bonnets the big boys on the field had, the shiny glittery snarling puma heads in the stands.

At least the numbers don't peel off after five minutes!
