Those are some awesome pics Jed and Mike. And although I didn't see the game, I was feeling pretty tense myself reading you play-by-play Hayd.

I'm going to bag the press (again) for its uncanny ability to pretend to be an important "national" newspaper whilst continually exposing its small, provincial heart.
Its "Super Sport" Monday morning section this morning had around 12 column inches of "zomg what can the Tactix do in their game tonight" preview-y waffle-crap and around six column inches of the main game in the Christchurch club netball competition
Then, squeezed in underneath these stellar reports, a sum total of about 6 column inches covering not only the first-ever win by the Pulse, but also the first-ever win by a New Zealand-based team in Australia.
Gits.

And by "press" I of course mean "Press".........
Curse you, lack-of-edit-function-man

Something I should've mentioned myself as a Magic fan. Before the Pulse game Frankie Stevens was announcing the score of the Magic game, I cheered at the time

Having forgotten the game was on (what's with not reminding me, Green? That's your job, don't you know?) I was forced to follow Hadyn's tweets at home, which was still pretty exciting.
At the half Broederlow is brought in
Is that the tall girl who never plays? Gee, that strategy worked.

Thanks, Amy.

No, you're thinking of Larissa Harrison. Broederlow is only my height, 9cm shorter than Larissa's 188cm. Yeah, I've never seen Harrison on court. Weird.

Ah, ok, thanks. And yes, to agree with Amy, once again, great photos.

Thanks for the comments guys. And good article Hadyn: one of the big downers about concentrating on the action on-court is that perversely you lose track of the action on the court. I'd look at the scoreboard and wonder when all those goals were scored. So it's good to be able read an interesting play-by-play after the fact! I got quite a shock when the final whistle went: I was looking through the lens and wasn't prepared for the roar from the crowd. It's amazing the amount of noise that a few hundred people can generate inside an enclosed space. Fantastic atmosphere. If only a certain other national team of the male persuasion could get that sort of atmosphere at the moment...

Thanks Hayden for actually making the pro netball exciting. I struggle to get into it on TV, and the print press seem to be so dull with their reportage, the Waikato Times excluded. (Discliamer ex the 'Tron ,now in Auckland).
