Wash your mouth out, Green!
Skorts are never the answer.

But at least that ugly Interislander patch on the shoulder is gone.
That doesn't look like the final strip to me, there's no sponsor logos whatsoever [ie Wellington Beds and the already-noted Interislander] Haven't heard nuffink about either company pulling sponsorship.

Yeah, i know, but i can dream. Though there is a logo on the back of the shorts that looks like a sponsor.
Skorts are never the answer.
I'm not actually a fan of skorts. It just seemed a safer joke than my first one: Skirts? Shorts? why not just short skirts?

Your instinct was correct.

Neither fish nor fowl to me. Still, the whole thing has "bored newspaper editor" written all over it.

Ooo Ben has unearthed a new glitch in the Weetbix site. You can add your own text!
-
Hadyn, could you get the guy in the away strip to untuck his shirt so he doesn't look quite so dorky?

Good to see they're starting to fix the site up.

Reebok uniforms and Nike shoes..??? Are Nike the boot sponsors?
-
In football, shoes are often the player's responsibility & not the club's. Not sure if that's the case here or not.

And that is exactly the case here. As with most lots of pro-sports the players have their own boot sponsors

Jo S,
I love the new Phoenix home strip - the stripes are great.
Less enthused with the away strip, it feels a bit generic ...I'm a bit disappointed with the new Spurs strip this year, don't really see the need for the yellow highlights on our home kit (white shirt, navy shorts - very glad we're keeping the navy shorts this year though), maybe they are going for a "linking theme" or some such, the alternate strip is all yellow this year (away strip all navy).

Huff n puff and other short pantalunacy...
Those netballers are being shortchanged by that joyless Ms Walden, the Manawatu admonishtraitor!I have never understood why female sports people seem to be required to wear the minimum of (often impractical) clothing ... is it just "marketing" and assisted objectification?
- same with schools it always seemed unfair that even in the depths of winter girls had to wear skirts with bare legs (though I believe tights may be allowed these days) and us boys could wear trousers, long johns, etc...
Whatever happened to freedom of choice, weren't a coupla wars fought for that? (and not in short skirts either! - well the Greeks & Romans maybe - but they were fighting for the, er, Hempire!)

No doubt it's going to happy, so I'll start the discussion on the Henry, Hansen and Smith re-appointment now.
Here, negatrons, I'll give you your points to argue about.
* Why was it decided on in April, and not reviewed following the team's shit performances in the Iveco series?
* Why are we still insisting on employing a coach who gave us the worst performance of the last world cup?
* Why are we still employing coaches who play players out of position? *coughDeansandMitchellplayingHowlettatFullback*
* Why didn't Robbie Deans get the job?
* Why didn't one of the 20million other coaches better than him get the job?
Etc.
All I have to say is this.
-
Etc
* Why don't they listen to the fans?
* Why don't they listen to meeeeeee?
* Does this mean we'll have to listen to all that re-conditioning bollocks all over again?

Strange, Henry said in May that he had not been reappointed...
It’s the blatant mendacity around this regime that gets me.

If you read the story, the NZRU board decided to reappoint them in April. Doesn't mean they told them.
-
I don't see why they wouldn't though.

Neither do I, in fact I imagine they did. But like all jobs nothing's official until it's made official, so in May:
"Graham, have you been reappointed as coach?"
"No"It's far more annoying that at the Press conference with Tew in June he was asked directly about the coaches and didn't answer with, "yes, we decided in April"

Hadyn - can I ask you to cast a critical eye on the team strips in this year's Tour de France? My own view on it is...
Columbia: FAIL. Yes, it gets points just because it's on Mark Cavendish, but faux sixpack abs on the strip = I don't think so.
Garmin: Would be reasonable if the orange wasn't so close to permatanned skin. Seriously: in the time trials, the skinsuits just look like a bad suntan and forearm wamers.
Saxobank: WHY? WHY? Saxobank are basically team CSC with a hat on and a new name sponsor. CSC had, hands down, the best team strip for each of the past six years. So why is Saxobank's strip so bland? It's not good, it's not awful, it's just a load of corporate logos on a white background.
Astana: actually quite nice. Bonus points for big use of national iconography rather than corporate sponsors.
But the clear winner, to my eyes, is Cervelo. Big, simple, graphic, and you can spot them easily in the bunch. I'm sure Hayden Roulston is holding his head a little higher in this strip.

PBK are pretty cool, it looks like a white Batsuit
The green Garmin top is nice, and I like the argyle patterns
Astana definitely has the nicest back (vertical words but not vertically aligned, I like it).
