The problem with the Blues is the same one they've had for the past decade - they continually try to get players at their peak instead of developing the team themselves.

Friday was my first ever match at Eden Park, and I have to say I enjoyed it.
Possibly the only thing it didn't have over the Caketin was atmosphere, though it appears now nobody goes to Canes home games that's disappeared anyway.
We found a great park in Kingsland, had a good feed, walked along the (closed) roads which was awesome, a nice safe way to get to the game, found out we were at Gate A and needed to get to gate E or something but that was well signposted. A scanner on Gate E had malfunctioned, but that wasn't holding up the line anyway.
In fact the only two downsides came at the same time: firstly we had trouble following the signage to our seats, secondly a well-intentioned old fellow who worked at the ground led us astray. We then took our place 10 minutes in among a largely vacant section of the South stand and enjoyed a typical Hurricanes victory: a textbook display of pulling it out of your arse.
Possibly my only gripe is that they took the tiny crowd and dispersed it around the ground instead of just putting it in one stand.

Also: in an industry where shoe brands are promoted and cherished one would think the Ryan household could cash in on this quite well

Websites are emulating ironically? Does that make them hipsters? :D

> Sky's broadcast was ahead of Prime's by perhaps 5 minutes
Do they do that with other supposedly live free-to-air coverage?
Sorry, I don't know. It was a crap way to find out about it though.
Didn't watch the game on Prime, but if there were ads, SKY's policy during CoGa has been to halt the broadcast and resume it when the ads were over.
(This is what made the opening ceremony take 4 1/2 hours and when India came out live, Prime was only up to Scotland)
I'm thinking that there were prob ads at the end of regular time/first half of OT?
This policy is being used pretty widely nowadays. V8 coverage gets the same treatment.

What freaked me at the time was how easily after he swung at Rossouw the Boks managed to surround McCaw and get him away from his support.
It reminded me of a certain 1984 NBA game between the 76ers and Celtics where Larry Bird had been on fire, was on 42 points, then Julius Irving got sick of being scored on and snapped. Charles Barkley and Moses Malone actually had Bird in a headlock on national TV while Irving laid into him. Could have easily happened there.

What, nothing on the yellow card that wasn't?
So at 0:57-0:59 in this clip Rossouw doesn't kick McCaw [the offence he was sent off for]
