There are certainly worse examples of the deathbed speech genre. Jacks's heavily medicated style of delivery had him sounding as if he was about to kark in mid verse. Highly resistable.

And yet St John the Divine gets his book in! I never could figure out how.
It seems to be a cornerstone of the more bloodthirsty end of Christianity that John the Divine/John of Patmos is one and the same as John the apostle, author of the fourth gospel. While the account of Jesus losing his rag over the forex traders in the temple occurs in all four gospels, it was John who used the phrase "my father's house", giving weight to the son of god thing. When it's presumed to be the same guy who describes the Jesus of revelations got up in a shirt red with the blood of his enemies, gentle Jesus meek 'n mild is just the entree.

Not my recollection. The avowedly pentecostal Elim and Assemblies of God churches were very well established and actively recruiting in NZ by the end of the 1960s.

That's Monday Conference host & "moderator" Bob Moore. No doubt aware that treating Zappa as a visiting intellectual à la Germaine Greer might offend Norman Normal of Neutral Bay, Moore strove to add his brand of old school intellectual ballast to a panel that at least had some grasp of Zappa's significance.
Anyway they're all gone now, Zappa, Norman, and Moore, who popped his clogs in 1979 aged 46.
