  • Hard News: The Spiral of Events,

Misdirection is saying the SFO leaked the Win Peters charges to Key and then when pressed for proof say maybe not the SFO but someone in the Police or Justice Department.

Speaking of the Police ... Howard Broad asks Parliament for 'direction' (unprecedented) on his 'draft' plan to introduce Tasers one day and then (after Labour has used debate on that to tie up the House and delay debate on Win Peters) decides the next day that yes he will introduce Tasers. So why would Labour think someone in the Police is leaking to National? The traditional Kiwi sense of Fair Play?

  • Hard News: Go Us,

Key was initially evasive when 3 News asked if anyone in his party had met with Lord Ashcroft.

    "Yes, I think they have."

Did he personally meet with Lord Ashcroft?

"Yes, I have. I met him at my home."

    How is that evasive?
Maybe if Garner had of asked 'Have you or any of your party met with Ashcroft' Key might have answered the first question better.

Ashcroft is the wealthy Briton who put up the $200,000 reward for the return of the stolen medals from the Army Museum in Waiouru.

Oh, he's that guy? I presume the PM also invited him to the Beehive for a cup of tea and a thank you. Was Dr Cullen there too? Did he call Ashcroft a 'rich prick' to his face? Tell us more, Mr Garner.

    Sarah Palin Baby Story Ender

Although some of the commenters still won't let it go. (It's a pregnancy suit!).

    Sigh.

I think it's perfectly reasonable for FOX News to demand a DNA test, as they did of John Edwards when he said "It's not my baby!"

Is it known for sure that she knew the diagnosis before the baby was born -

Yes, she said she knew, and decided there was no option regardless. That's how she earned her wings ...

  • Hard News: Go Us,

One popular theory is that McCain wanted Lieberman and Rove wanted Romney, and McCain chose Palin to piss Rove off ...

It would seem that Bill Kristol was pushing her last June:

Good grief, Russell. Let it be.

I think we all agree that the story is distasteful, but I believe it needs to be followed (not here of course, so I'm happy to let this part of this thread drop). If true it's a bigger conspiracy than the Lewinsky cover-up.

    Ewwww....

    Sorry...

Don't apologise. Anyone who can make Craig say 'Ewww' for a change ...
    ;-)

Is it just me or are there others who think that, just maybe, our General Election might be a little more important than the circus that passes for democracy in the US ?

When she calls one, we'll discuss it ...

The obvious choice was Palin, the governor of Alaska, whose guard stands as our last best defense against possible attack by the resurgent Russian menace across the Bering Strait.

    chortle.

Don't laugh Che. If you look at a map you'll clearly see a line of stepping stones leading from Russia to Alaska.

  • Hard News: Awesome,

Thinking 'what a crock of shit'...

As I said, I thought that too initially. But they've made good points. But as KOS commenters have commented 'the truth will come out when the MSM investigate'. Or will they?

Maybe we should lend them Jonathon Marshall to ferrit out the scandal:

THE recently appointed head of the New Zealand Hotel Council has resigned after his board discovered he starred in a porn movie and was pictured having sex in a six-page spread inside an X-rated Kiwi magazine.

  • Hard News: Go Us,

The current set of rumours about her possible fake pregnancy are a hoot too

Respectfully disagree there -- "weird and frankly distasteful" is the phrase I'd use, and I wish Obama would actually tell his supporters to chill the fuck out and stick to the issues. There's something a wee bit creepy about this.

Call me low-brow but I think it is the pregnancy issue that will sink her. Having made a meal of John Edwards 'love child' surely fair and balanced FOX News will dig out the truth on this one too?

  • Hard News: Awesome,

And Daily Kos has a good backgrounder on how her son is really her grandson
    :-)

    OMFG!!

Read Graeme's link people, it's mind-blowing. My first thought was 'It can't possibly be true - what a shitty rumour to start' ... but if you read it all the way through you're left with 'OMFG'

[If it's true] Why do people with dark secrets think they can get away with it. Why do they think they can run for public office and it won't come out. And to run for VP no less?

There is ZERO way to spin this (if true) and damn anyone who tries. (I can't fault her from wanting to spare her daughter's 'shame' but she should have resigned as Gov, saying she needed to make her DS baby her 1st priority)
