  • Hard News: From soundbite to policy,

    DPF - comments like:

I’ve previously blogged that passing bills under urgency without select committee scrutiny, will lead to flaws in the laws that will need to be corrected later.

It is of greater concern that the bills to be debated have not been made available to MPs at the first available opportunity.

are a lot milder than the language you would be using if Labour were pulling the same stunt. This isn't just about the flaws the process will bring, but about the abuse of the democratic process. I haven't heard you really criticise that.

Well done Air NZ on the Kiwisaver front! from the Herald:

The airline said today that it was staying at 4 per cent even though the Government this week reduced the compulsory company contribution to 2 per cent.
    ...
However, employees needed stability in the scheme to allow them to plan their retirement savings with confidence, she said.
    ...
We would like to see the tax exemption on employer contributions restored to 4 per cent, to encourage more employees and employers to maintain their contribution at this higher level.

  • Hard News: Birth of the Nasty,

in response to concerns about ... rushed way the legislation was passed.

Does anyone in the Nats realise what idiots they are making of themselves?

  • Hard News: Debacles and Disgraces,

Hanover was a respected company before Hotchin and Watson took over

My son thought that the weather updates on TV were sponsored by Handover Finance. He was on to something back then, but we didn't know it!

  • Field Theory: Intense Uniformity,

Actually the Crusaders are the only ones to have done that

Apart from the Blues who are blue in the front home and away!

  • Field Theory: Intense Uniformity,

interesting... BUT it still doesn't answer the questions posed on the other thread like:- Using the Crusaders as the obvious example, why have a different strip to avoid colour clashes, but then include a huge body of the home colour on the back panel? It just seems like AB's v Scotland in the World Cup all over again.

  • Field Theory: The Return,

I can remember all the trophies Tottenham have won between 82 and now.

Yes, they even managed to spoil the Monty Python Coventry City/ FA Cup joke.

  • Field Theory: The Return,

re the All Blacks - 5 tests in 5 countries in 5 weeks, all away from home, all wins. In many respects that's more intense than the Tri-Nations.

We should stop playing international matches until the rest catch up.
    (I am joking)

Super 14 strips - what everyone else has been saying. Perhaps a boycott of buying the away strips is in order?

  • Hard News: They can see your house from here,

who thought her house appearing on the web was a gross invasion of her privacy.

But didn't mind it being on national news at primetime?!! (I didn't see the item)

As all the photos are taken from public roads then the front-yards are no more public now than they ever have been. [Disclosure: I live up a r-o-w, so all I can see of mine is the driveway.]
