I don't think they are worthless but maybe they have lost their way. I think they are trying to please everyone without offending anyone. They could just accept they are not in it alone.

It seems to be an issue that every mainstream social democrat party in the industrialised world is going through. Under figureheads like Clinton and Blair they became Tory/Republican-lite in order to stay relevant. Now that such a strategy has run its course, people increasingly find it hard to tell between the traditional 2-party duopoly which they feel are both captured by moneyed elites, and the resurgence of uber-populism appears to be a symptom of it.

Went and got the Shihad album today, ripped it to lossless and have been playing it. It is thunder.

I got the shiny vinyl. Which, I must admit, I was a little surprised didn’t come with a download code. Still, sounds pretty damn fine through the needle.

Might wait for a quiet moment to really shatter the silence.

Also got the latest David Kilgour and the Heavy Eights End Times Undone. Consistently brilliant, as you would expect, and green vinyl, to boot.

Fair point, sir. By that phrase, I meant that I placed my shiny new compact disc in an optical drive attached to my computer and clicked the button to import the songs on it, having previously set my iTunes software to use the Apple Lossless Audio Codec, which reduces the file size without the loss of any of the original awesomeness.

  • Geoff Lealand,

A heightened expectation in the air this sunny Saturday morning, with Bob Dylan playing just up the road at the Claudelands Arena tonight and tomorrow, I have the windows open and the music paying loud, just in case he wanders by.
Auckland visitors are due to arrive.

    This seems eminently sensible.

Well, that was a once-in-a-lifetime experience: Bob Dylan singing an encore of All Along the Watchtower and Blowin' in the Wind, in waltz time, as an encore to a great concert 5 minutes down the road from our house.

I trust you invited everyone back to yours afterwards :-)

Sure did. A Korean feast at The Family House restaurant firstly. The visitors were highly complimentary of the Claudelands Arena and both Nick Bollinger and Marty Duda on The 13th Floor have posted enthusiastic reviews of the concert,

I finally figured out Hosking's tonsorial style
(him and many other 'youth-arrested' males)

My theory is that after years of carpet manufacturers trying to eliminate static build up, they joined forces with Hairdressing gel makers, who created a mixture of black lard and iron filings to be sold to men as a hair gel.
Thus all static becomes a random stylist and voila
    - the 'denial of aging dick look!'

But seriously this whole Drty Politics controversy has upset everything - the very fabric of society has been rent - worse there was no customary Friday Music post at Public Address - nothing is forever it seems....

Yes, I missed our Friday music treat too. I guess Russell is staying out of sight, to avoid running into all those horrible people associated with Slater.
