She tried to put a health plan in place, she failed. But to do that was massive. She has massive potential.

Congress always helps. You are trying to pass legislation in a gridlocked system at the moment. Without congress its crawl politics again, stagnation.

Very interesting assessment on the role of disability activism and changes over time at DNC. Lots more focus this time, including disabled speakers. Hillary Clinton apparently started her career by fighting to get disabled kids into school.

I was wondering last night whether there has ever been this kind of visibility for disability issues at a convention. It's remarkable.

Donald Trump has to outsource hacking his political enemies to Russia because he is not yet in charge of the country. Bring those jobs back to America by electing Donald president.

In the meantime, Trump has pissed off the GOP again by going off message, encouraging Russia to hack Clinton’s personal server and release whatever they find there. The man's seriously unhinged.

But can you imagine the GOP's response if a Clinton did it?

Pretty amazing speech by Obama. His words and delivery are so good. Such good theatre too. At the end Hillary came on the stage for an endorsing hug.
Wouldn't it be wonderful if we had such orators among our political leaders. -

You tend to get tall-poppied to death anytime you demonstrate extraordinary speaking skills in NZ.

A presidential candidate encouraging a foreign power to conduct and act of espionage against his political opponent? They’d be shouting "treason" from the rooftops and bringing out their assault rifles.
The Independent reckons Trump is flirting with electoral disaster, the GOP is backpedalling as fast as they can, and the New York Times is scathing.
If Mr. Trump is serious in his call for Russian hacking or exposing Mrs. Clinton’s emails, he would be urging a power often hostile to the United States to violate American law by breaking into a private computer network. He would also be contradicting the Republican platform, adopted last week in Cleveland, saying that cyberespionage “will not be tolerated,” and promising to “respond in kind and in greater magnitude” to all Chinese and Russian cyberattacks.
It's also emerged that Trump has ripped off the slightly sick-making ‘USA Freedom Kids’ dance group which opened his early rallies. They're threatening a law suit against Trump. Join the queue, kids.
And a quick aside to the DNC… here’s the US Green Party’s Presidential candidate Jill Stein destroying some dim-witted Fox News interviewers with commentary from The Humanist Report. (Link via The Standard).

Yup. Never liked him much but I give him props for that one. Still, I'd have thought, after 12 years running New York, he'd be a little more comfortable with the teleprompter. But maybe that's what gave it authenticity.

The Australian Financial Review's David Rowe has done a nice take on that.

Lots of disability rights talk in Hillary's speech. It's not patronising either. Caring is not enough, you need activism as well, seems to be her message. OK with me. And I never though I would will ever hear a chant of HI LA RIE
-
Obama's speech was also very good.

Wonderful speech by Michelle Obama. I wish she was standing.
Me too! But hey, if it works for "ex First Lady" Hillary, maybe Michelle will follow at a later date??
I'm not exactly down with political nepotism, or pseudo monarchy, (Bush, Kennedy, etc.) but if the person has talent... I don't see why not...
