Holding onto spring, and because I felt like photo-bombing PAS, as you can’t argue with a photo.

Oooh, yes! It's really damn hard to beat the shade of mature trees! My favourite place to read, when it's warm enough.

    dapple pulp...

    ...the shade of mature trees!
    My favourite place to read...

    what a cycle...
    is not a book
    a pulpy shade of
    a former tree?
    is not reading
    the flick-eyeing
    of turning leaves?

    going bush...
So perhaps writely we might be in a wordwood:
His tree - ashes of alders, and other pageant trees
Mist tree - coppice and robbers, Larch villains, etc
    Lit tree works including:
Poet tree - arbor teary diatribes and diversification
Sophis tree - willowy words from a thicket
    and so on....

If carpen was a word, I'm sure Carpen tree must fit in there somehow

    You've nailed it!

    Wooden it, though!...

    ..take a bough.

  • Chris Waugh,

Borrowing from my daughter's favourite English-language book, if carpen doesn't work, why not carp in tree?
