I'm guessing from your email you meant to post a photo too? Testing 1, 2.

I managed to find another photo of my dog Zaizai! I've shared one before thinking it was the only one I had left, but a bit of digging around found this one, him sitting content with his toy.

This Sunday, in anticipation of forthcoming dog-thread, I went looking for dogs to catch on point and shoot. This is the first one I found. He looks a bit too friendly for his role.

Our girl Ellie, who looks scary but is sweet, and who turns 10 – 10! How is that possible? – in a month or so. This is from around 2003 (at Te Henga or Piha, not sure which), and although it isn’t the best quality, it captures the ‘running while shaking off water’ thing that dogs do. Ears! Ears!

She looks lovely. I like her shadow in the wet sand. Cute ears. Dogs are cool.

Stella had a boyfriend . He passed away 2 Xmas' ago. Stella still thinks we are visiting him when we go up the drive to what was his last home. I get a tinge of sadness every time. Here is Bobby.

One of these days, I hope to meet Ellie and milk her ears. That sounds gross, but it just means that thing you do where you stroke them lovingly. Ruby adores it.

  • Ray Gilbert, in reply to Sofie Bribiesca,

I know Stella very well as I lived a few houses down the road with my daughter Stella from her birth until she was 7 years old. We used to stop for a pat nearly everytime we went by. And I agree she is a lovely dog.

Have e mailed the link to human Stella for her to look at tonight. I reckon she'll be delighted to see her.

You never know where this sort of thing might go, but this is awesome, and makes it all the more worthwhile.

    Cheers Ray.

We have a Newf called Bosun.

Our vet goes in for dress ups. Bosun really likes our vet. So here he is dressed as Nonu for the RWC. I’m not suggesting there’s any dignity in it, mind… just that it amuses us. And Bosun liked it. There were biscuits.

Great photos. Thanks. I have found it hard to photograph our dog due to her being black, and fast...and me being a rubbish photographer. But, this photo I like. Coco was 6 months old then and is now just over 2 - she is still obsessed with tennis balls. This is the first dog either of us have owned. Should have done it sooner...although ask me that whilst she's exhibiting her "behavoural issues"

Excellent ears. I love that they shake from the front back so the aft and tail can still be shaking while the fore has relaunched.
