It does exactly that. doesn't it. I vaguely remember he said he walked in there for some "official " paperwork (possibly border crossing) and I am glad he still had a memory stick when his camera was stolen. I think the building carved in the rock had been there centuries, so I guess the property developers decided against continuation. ;)
This wee bird hung out with my Dad for a while, came down and sat on his hand. The man has a way with birds.

Kereru will crash whenever they want;
young thrushes are kind of exuberantly stupid
(and you can't do much about that)
and kotare …sigh.
But, they almost always survive a window crash.Soon the skies will be full of controlled quadrocopters,
watch out birds, and gaffer tape crosses on your windows!
