Watching Dalziel on TV the other night she seems to have become a ‘small person’, like the people that used to get walked all over, and who Lianne had advocated for strongly, before as an MP.
The CCC can't do anything much without Gerry's say so. He has extraordinary powers under the Canterbury Earthquake Recovery Act, which he has so far used mainly to crush the Council. Remember Share an Idea, and the CCC's Centre City Draft Plan? Binned.

reminds me of the one and only Green Flash experience I had. Blink and you’ll miss that : )
I've never seen a green flash! Awesome sauce. :-)

When was this event ?
Was it part of the one on April 25 that took out most high frequency radio and shortwave for an hour or more?Last night, Ian!
Our first clear night for a while. The stars were brilliant. It was very cold, but worth it. :-) -
Sex drive is a thing. And sex between some people at some times can lead to reproduction. But I think it's quite a leap to tie all sexual behaviour to a reproductive purpose.
Eagles can mate hundreds of times a day in the breeding season. Does this increase their chances of successfully reproducing? No. But they obviously like doing it.

This is grainy, and at the very limit of my G9's capabilities at maximum ISO, maximum aperture, maximum time, but. My first aurora!!!
Another lovely thing here on my coast south of Dunedin!
To the naked eye the glow is faint, dimmer than the stars, and only subtly greenish. But the just-perceptible shimmers and flashes and changes of shape are magical. Thank you Hebe, for telling me to go look!

Vote. And encourage others to vote. Only a change of government can help us.
What he said.

Welllll…but also the sudden horniness just before menstruation, when conception is impossible?
That I’m not so sure of. Bonus time?
My point is that the correspondence between libido and fertility is tenuous.

That might work for Flockton basin, but Flockton is only a small part of the problem. The flooding there is intolerable and affects a concentrated area, but the wider problem affects many more – possibly thousands – of properties.
There is obviously a major issue with reduced drainage capability in the Avon and Heathcote rivers, and of the Estuary. I don't know how this can be remedied except with very large scale works.

Thanks for this Greg, and to Russell for keeping Chch concerns in the public eye on Public Address.
I've left Chistchurch. I miss it, and the people there, a lot, but the relief of not-being-in-Chch is unbelievable.
I look around at people on the street here, and they're just getting on with ordinary things. They are cheerful or sad or cranky or however they are, but their faces don't have that tight look I'm so used to seeing on faces in Chch. The falling-apart-just-holding-on look.
Arohanui to you all.
