  • Island Life: Page 3 Boy,

Juha, you also recommended the Intrepid Journeys route to Warkworth.

Kate, I have a Look Better Naked class on Thursdays.

Jolisa, a review of yours appears in the same issue. I regret any diminished flow of traffic past the cover story.

Martha, Russell’s right. It would appear they don’t.

Rob and Sue, you may be dismayed to learn that the domain name nakedbloggers.com is taken. On a positive note, Graham Reid cuts quite a dash in a thong.

  • Hard News: Chew before swallowing,

His choice of emotional buttons is different from Brash. It attacks Labour where they are perceived as strong.

Yes indeed. Whether it's deliberate or not, I can't tell, but that's precisely the strategy Karl Rove is known for.

  • Island Life: Mint Condition,

Do I really write like an old man?

Not at all! Did I say Old? I meant mature, wise, experienced, sage, etc......

Karl von Randow has suggested regular local meetings of like-minded campers. Mini-baa, he calls it. Bloody good idea. It would be good to have one in Wgtn and finish off some of those conversations.

  • Island Life: Mint Condition,

I quite like the way they use 'mint'. The one that annoys the tits off me is the, well, entirely random application of 'random'.

  • Southerly: Summer of The L.e.d.s,

David, how about a stadium where all those cranes and containers are?

I quite liked the Volcadium, you know...

If I were having an Albert Speer moment in the city....

...and I like every part of this.

A pink stucco building about halfway along Tamaki Park would be nice, too.

David, how old is the concertina? Have you checked inside for American banknotes?

  • Southerly: Summer of The L.e.d.s,

Given Auckland's natural features it should be the most beautiful city in the world, but it's only mildly pretty at best.

    Nailed.

Given that great tracts of it have been built in a disposable fashion, how might you go about remaking it, I wonder?

Lest we run away with the notion that the entire continent is mired in ill-will:

From a forwarded email doing the rounds of a university in Sydney:

    Hi there.

You may have heard that Google intends to take high resolution photos of Sydney on Australia Day as part of its Google Earth project. (Google Earth Events: Australia Day 2007)
We think it’s a great opportunity for a bit of activism.

We’ll be chalking up the word “Sorry” in a bunch of places that are clearly visible from Google’s plane. Given our record on Aboriginal human rights, Iraq, Kyoto, East Timor’s Oil, &c. we have plenty to apologise for.

    Nicely said, Stephen.

The difference, in my own observation, is that in Australia there is more social latitude to be brazen about it. Here, it's muttered, or scrawled on a cyber toilet wall like this.

    The clip is here

Looks as though a filthy sinner is still picking out his shirts.
