If the youth had more optimism in their lives (refer to lack of jobs) I doubt there would be such a violent attitude displayed by some on the streets (good gear would help too) - with that in mind there does seem to be more groups of youths looking for fights than even 18 months ago... and I put that down to anger at their lot in life (refer jobs et al), not drinking in itself - and it seems to be very locale driven, I rarely feel threatened on K Rd, Queen st however...
from my experiences its those of my generation and a little younger (40ish) that are really scary out on the streets - violence seems to be a common reaction for (some of) them out on the piss, a almost default setting - and a male thing at that

so over the multitude of streaming revenue posts that litter the internet... one supports/defends... the next takes to opposite view - they only serve to confirm peoples believe patterns about such things imo
its about the money honey - the shit that we were foretold the internet would bring some creative souls... and I reckon spotify et al represent a stream of revenue artists will applaud when traditional terrestrial radio revenue (and the general publics listening habits) are dwarfed by online sources - which are still years off, in NZ at least
Not suggesting spotify's model is ideal for the user nor artist... but it sure as hell is a step forward into the present... where it goes to is up to the general publics interest in subscriptions for music
so streaming Punk Britannia on the puter when I get home, ta for the link

Big treasure I'm working on... a sprawling six-hour mixtape tribute to Kraftwerk by Ninja Tunes DJ Food http://streamified.me/a88681
looking forward to hearing Scott's Media 7 piece over the weekend (rather than reading his awesome blog), cheers

theres a lot in your crate Jackie that are wonderful... but also more aligned for the young - ie mining territory many of us have been over before especially the indie rock stuff - if I was young I'd think a lot of that haul brilliant but alas I'm just young at heart
