Hard News: Where nature may win, in reply to
I think your experience down a mine has given you some very valid questions James. I absolutely agree that nearly 2 hours before noticing anything wrong is appalling even if for nothing other than safe practice. I agree there seems much that needs asking. I understand your anger and frustration and I may be the only one that thinks your venting is a little closer to home than some here may realise. For that I am sorry. Keep plugging, you sound like you got thick skin. Push you local MP for your answers. You may have some luck.
Now I will step away from the computer for my own health and safety regulations. :) -
I did find the news that 300 people had died in a stupid stampede in Cambodia rather depressing, but it barely rated a mention here.
I noticed but, yes, I feel that often happens way down here in little ol' NZ. The kinda " yeah but what about this... " because we are so isolated. Road deaths are fodder but a bunch of impending doom is news. Sad Sad Sad. Society size perhaps?

What I have been wondering during this tragic event, is weather mining is any more dangerous an occupation than deep sea fishing.
Whose allowed life insurance?

So an Economist (Rebstock) has a better idea about what Doctors deem unfit for work because they are ill, invalid, or other? Y'know, Doctors who spend up to hundreds of thousands of dollars getting (what she must obviously think a waste), a Science degree. I mean why would a Doctor know better than her? Of course these people must just be bludgers right?. Unfuckingbelievable! That's what this lot are.
As for the example of the welfare system I witnessed many times in the States, women begging with babies in their arms . Child begging with sign saying "dreaming of a MacDonalds burger. Cardboard box homes lining streets. Is this what we have to look forward to?
Why am I constantly reaching for the bucket? -
People die in real life, rather than getting to do a re-take.
As an aside, I have died, I am still here.

What? You mean like Gerry Brownlee said t'other night. Along the lines of "There's not much I can do". At least he was honest.

I see that the PM has borrowed Bob Parker’s orange jacket and has now become a mining expert.
Ha ha, you are not the first person I have heard say this, along with shouts for "roll the sleeves up" :)

I don't do hatred rogered. Don't see the point. Don't mind questioning this ongoing situation though. I was interested in what Peter Whittall had to say last night on News but the Police thought they should speak for him. Thought that was a bit rude to cut him off like that. If you think reminding others that the Police are not perfect, is wrong, go for it, as for me, I don't mind so I'll call it if I please.
