FFS, people, your guy’s gonna win – try and show at least a scrap of grace.
Grace ain't what we're going to get if National has an unmuzzled win. On the up side, remember how good it felt to have Muldoon's government as a lightning rod for political loathing. Barring being in Britain for some of the Thatcher years, I haven't had that experience since. And a lot of great underground music and arts usually comes out of those times.

I could, in theory, being a member of no party, put ads or posters up on Saturday one-coloured, say, blue, or red, or green, with just the word "vote" on them, or even the colour alone, no word at all, as long as I paid for them. Or could I? That would be an interesting point for a judicial ruling.

All I can say to all those who have come early to Capture, please stay late.
Capture is firming up to be one of those I-really-shouldn't-but-I-can't-resist pleasures. It combines many of my quiet obsessions.

Mine have a lot of large earth-moving machinery parked next to the Mark 1 Zephyr.

Snap. While I was posting that last , thought the same. Seems a summer-holidays-time occupation, it could get obsessive.

Oh you're making me envious; I love architectural kitsch.

Oh good; you too. I have recently come by the parents' slide collection and am wondering what to do with them. Nostalgia for me and I think many are interesting for others. Dad had a flash German camera that he could use well so they are good quality. How to digitise them?

Would have been a treat if the model lit up from inside – like the plastic glow-in-the-dark Acropolis lamp I once saw in the Plaka in Athens (I so wanted that but couldn't carry it or reliably ship it home).
