one of the unknown new NZ First MPs is a former Chch city councillor, Dennis O'Rourke, a volatile and politically wily old fox. Should make for some entertainment.
-
Best case: another Green then the two chch labour mps back. What happens then? So why is Key telling us it's done. Not until the specials are counted.

Key is really pissed. The smile doesn't reach his eyes.

65 per cent turn-out; WTF? I just cannot get past that as an astounding figure. Voter turn-out usually around 80 per cent. So with the Nats just scraping in at 48%, it’s hardly a resounding mandate. Is Key delaying speaking until he gets over the tantrum?

If I remember the same approaches were used in the Opening Addresses. Any were equally criticsed/praised. Any thoughts as to why it didn't affect poll results?
National's one is calculated to have that home-made, down-home party-of-the-people look rather than the big-city-big-cash-and-big-cameras look. ie: "don't be scared of us little people we won't hurt you" (vulpine grin).

I was going on Shayne's comments when he hauled it out at the King's Arms. I recall he speculated that it was surely the only rock song with "cunt" in the first line.
The Sex Pistols' Silly Thing was originally Silly Cunt but they wanted it played on radio. Changing the noun when singing along makes the tune sound so much righter.
