Not at all, if you want your vote to be a protest vote against National not Labour. I would vote for a stinking pile of poo if it would get rid of National, they are Cuthullull's little helpers.
Voting for a "minor" party is not a protest vote period. My interactions with Labour people in general election mode has always given me the impression that most (not all) Labourites regard MMP as an aberration that will eventually go away, and they only go along with it as much as they must until FPP is restored. Which is why the Greens may well within a term or two be the second-largest party in Parliament.
And why do I have to be left to be Green anyway?

A vote against Labour is as good as a vote for National
Nonsense. My way or the highway huh?

I find it mostly in the pervasive Labour attitude towards the Greens. I see a party with a distinct political tradition, extremely capable leadership and a commitment to decent, honorable politics. Labour people I speak to seem to see them only as the party that steals "Left" votes that rightfully belong to Labour.
That's such a good analysis, and that arrogance is why I will vote for individual MPs who represent my electorate well but will never again party vote Labour. I have in the past voted Labour, National and Green. This time I'm party vote Green, electorate Labour (Ruth Dyson) and MMP to keep extremists of any hue in check.

I will be voting for Team Red. I like the Greens, and I think a Labour/Greens government would do wonders for the country.
Labour's attitude to the Greens when brokering past MMP government deals takes a lot of forgetting. I don't.

I do tend to think they've ensured they won't have another armchair ride with the media this time though.
Yes. The teapot tits-up has screwed up National's media more than Key can imagine.
My particular media loathing this time around is reserved for Stuff's John Hartevelt; he is so obviously a po0litical baby and swallows the spin without even realising while claiming objectivity. Give me an upfront Tory bastard any day.
If I were voting tactically tomorrow, it would (shudder) be NZ First party vote to get them over the 5% hump and hobble National, and if all the Greens on PA did the same we'd have heaps of Green MPs and National screwed to the wall. But I don't think I can do it without a sickbag..

Interesting reports about the lack of Nats talking to media.
It's the old campaign game of "Hide the Weasel".

I fear that a National government that is any other than severely hobbled will turn this country down a hideous path, I have always had the feeling that term one for the Nats was setting the scene. A second unbridled term would be awful, and many of their actions almost irreversible.

Of course, Labour is unwell, shall we say, so it would be a National defeat rather than a Labour win and requires tactical voting all over New Zealand. It is surprising, however, how well the average New Zealander can surgically deal to an untrusted party and Prime Minister under MMP; giving them power but hobbling the leaders with the likes of a Winston.

All is not lost dear Islander. The numbers are closer than the dominant National spin would have you believe. From tonight's TV poll, it appears the Nats are still trending down, with three days from poll till election day, and are 48%-ish. Labour may not look good but the Nats must have 46% polling plus Act to govern in Key's great gamble of governing alone. I reckon it's much closer than spun when you aggregate all the left and centre grouping who are willing to talk to each other. As a political junkie, I will be fascinated to see how it's all going to play out.
