  • Hard News: Key Questions, in reply to DexterX,

I was mostly joking but you're right, he'd see her in the same light as Hayek (of whom Thatcher was a huge fan)

  • Hard News: Key Questions,

Cosmic – Key is accused of smoking Dope as Thatcher, likely one of Key’s Idols, exits.

You think he knew who Thatcher was? She was PM in another country when he was at uni. Like 'The Tour', I figure he probably can't recall who she was or what she did.

  • Hard News: Key Questions,

    As Russell said:

But what can’t be denied is that this whole affair indicates further that when he is questioned about his actions, the first instinct of Prime Minister John Key is to dissemble, divert and develop amnesia. This isn’t good enough.

It really is not. Key has made a virtue out of not being 'a politician', I can understand how that might appeal, but this not being 'a politician' seems to have drifted into not accountable. Not accountable to Parliament, not accountable to the Speaker, not accountable to the media either.

FWIW, if you want to know where this inevitably leads, just look at the last NSW Labor Government. Utterly corrupt.

Damian, what a bloody great idea (and goal). Sincere congrats for doing something valuable. FWIW, I'll keep an eye out in Sydney for anything/content/idea that might assist.

One day, I'd dearly love to get to one of these... not this one sadly. Maybe, I'll host a Sydney meetup.

Long exposure function on the camera – this one was 30 seconds, long enough to detect the stars and way long enough to get the trees lit by my outdoor light… o, and the tripod, or table, or ledge or whatever – keeps everything pretty still, except the leaves blowing around in the wind : )

So, tripod I don't have (for the moment), is this with a digi or non-digicam? Got a shot in mind I just might attempt...

Thanks too the JacksonP for those Gannet shots. Read my kids Janet the Gannet a lot and took them to Murwai last time we came home. Was delightfully windy.

    Sunset over Ohiwa harbour

    Homesick.

Nora, that evening sky shot is stunning - they all are actually - how did you achieve such light on the trees as well as capturing the stars?

….. do you think he’s related to this one? Similar hair-do…

Reminds me of a Ralph Steadman cartoon.. or Janice from the Muppets

you could start calling them cameras, that just happen to have a bit of other functionality attached

Certainly the instagram filters provide a remedy for almost every error (or at least the ones I regularly make).
