Robyn, 11 years with "0 responses"?

As it happens, that article moved into a commentable state about four months ago. I wonder what 11 years of Bryan Adams comments would look like.

I've just been told off for singing 'Run to You'.

It's such a brilliant song, especially the bridge with its moody, guitar that erupts into real a bad-ass guitar riff. The listener is left in no doubt that Bryan is going to run to you.

I'm not even going to google it, but you just know that somewhere out there is an online community dedicated to ladies who love men with amputated left legs.

Also, because Bryan Adams is awesome, I feel like linking to my track-by-track analysis of his 1984 album Reckless, which is one of the very first things I ever put up on my website. (Shut up. I was only 21.)

Bryan Adams has just become even cooler in my eyes. Though if that were me, I would so have gone out with him.

Kate Bush wrote a song about a spell for invisibility, which basically involved being female and middle aged.

If any men wish to simulate this effect, simply don a high-viz vest and walk down the street. Despite the name, no one will pay any attention to you.

I read the loooong comment from Mr Easte, and wondered what it was in reply to, because I couldn't remember having read anything that would warrant such a reply.

This was all I could find, from Russell's original post:

I'm not a big fan of Graeme Easte, who comes from the Alliance side (on the other hand, anyone who has these people for enemies has my sympathy).

If that's the sort of response Mr Easte gives to someone who confesses to being "not a big fan", I'd hate to see the essay a full-on insult would prompt.

Oh, and Bryan Adams stalked me for a couple years

I wish I could just casually drop stuff like that into conversation.

Also, "try a little Bry and kiss your lonely nights goodbye".

  • John Banks on Hairy Lesbians,

It seems Steve Crowe isn't the only mayoral candidate with an interest in lesbians.

logging in for the first time purely to insult someone who's got a demonstrated history of articulate intelligence?

Those of us who have been members of online communities for years know about netiquette, about lurking and getting the feel of the community before jumping in and posting.

But there are always going to be people for whom it's a new experience, and they'll dive in without knowing context or the personalities involved.

On PA System, we can give people information about ourselves via the website link option, but that's about it. You can kind of do a stalkery search on Google, but I'd really like the ability to be able to check out all the posts a user has made (or perhaps just all the discussions they've been involved with). And that would be useful for helping newcomers figure out who's who.

This is why I love that this wondrous country is my home.

My sentiments exactly! It's really cool knowing that all our comments didn't just vanish into the interweb - they were read!

And that's also what I like about PA System - occasionally someone truly legendary comes along and joins in.

This is all getting a bit depressing. Is it even worth voting for an Auckland mayoral candidate? Should I just bow down to my new mayoral overlord?

I thought Steve Crow's profile was very well written.

Yeah, I was reading it thinking, "Oh, this guy sounds like a really well-rounded candidate." I got a bit of a surprise when I saw his name.

I originally thought his bid for the mayoralty was some sort of publicity stunt, but it seems like he's running as a serious candidate.
