  • Hard News: The Munter and the Munted,

I'm only really here to answer Grant's music question - if it's the same song we used in the episode (and I'm pretty sure it is) it is The Veils "Sit Down by the Fire".

You had two Reb Fountain tracks in season 5, which had me all excited. Please use her again, and pay her well.

All Blacks: Best performance by an All Blacks side rated number two in the world against the Springboks (rated number one) at Eden park, on Saturday 10th July 2010, ever.

Well for starters, the All Blacks are the #1 ranked team in the world, and the Springboks are #2. Has been that way since end of last year (http://www.irb.com/rankings/full.html).

I think some people would rate parts of the 1956 series in NZ, and the 1996 series (first time we won in South Africa) as best.

  • Hard News: The Munter and the Munted,

Is it online anywhere Grant? I've only seen the season 1-5 recap which has some promo stuff at the end, and the hospital/mortuary one.

  • Cracker: P is for Politics.,

This of course is not my sole voting criteria - "policy" is also useful, but having had a P habit in what can only have been the reasonably recent past is an automatic exclusion from receiving my vote.

I too would be wary, but the recent past would be relevant for me. Addict in the past couple of years? Nope. 10 years ago and clean since? Let's hear what you have to say. I'm not opposed to having elected leaders who have seen the darker side of our society, it's something relevant to their work.

  • Hard News: The McCully Touch,

How many past and present All Blacks have passed their lives able to go out in public without acting like Visigoths with erections at the sight of a pretty woman? Those professional sportsmen who don't treat women like semen spitoons should grow a pair and speak up.

I read a quote from Michael Jones (one of the other ambassadors) saying that he did not support what Haden had said and was disappointed in him. I suspect there's as many "rugby people" that are annoyed at Haden as are supportive of what he said.

Thing is, they came over to my place and started the fight. I'm not supposed to argue with them at my own blog?

Good people should be paid to deal with the other end of the bell curve. Otherwise it's just using up energy for no benefit.

  • Random Play: Fiji #3: No truth, only versions,

The Broken Heartbreakers are excellent, though I'm only seen them as a twosome. Apparently they're taking a break while one of them goes to Europe, but both their albums are excellent.

  • Hard News: The McCully Touch,

Thank you for this post Russell. I've been having, or rather attempting to have, a v frustrating debate with a couple of the bloggers from NZ Conservative who have defended Haden on a post I wrote yesterday about the matter. I think we have basically got to a simmering rage-filled standstill, so new perspectives are most welcome.

Is "don't argue with these people, you'll just end up driven to drink" a new perspective?

  • Hard News: The McCully Touch,

It truly is astounding that after Crusaders/Darkie comments, someone didn't sit on Haden every time he went back on Deaker's show, or demand that he not do it if he wanted to remain an ambassador. Fool me once, fool me twice etc.
