  • Hard News: Mint Chicks win everything,

Other things I hate? When you're halfway through a sentence and someone tries to complete it for you, and gets it totally wrong.

Yes! And worse is when they judge you on their incorrect sentence ending.

"What did you get up to on the weekend?"
    "Oh, I stay-"
"Stayed at home? Oh, you should get out more. You're so boring."
"Uh, stayed out really late on Saturday night after the Mint Chicks show and then spent Sunday sleeping."

Give me a break. 20 seconds of Amy Winehouse was more than enough for me.

Not even Amy Winehouse likes her debut album, so that's not a good place for anyone to start. You need to go to Rehab.

Camp itself isn't a form of wit. It's what you do with your camp, honey ...

    Like pitching a tent?

  • Hard News: Mint Chicks win everything,

the excellent Johnny Devlin tribute by Jonny Toogood and the New Devils (which was, incidentally, the first chance Jon Toogood and Shayne Carter have had to share a stage)

I love how these events bring musicians together who might not ordinarily have reason to collaborate. Someone must put this on YouTube!

I'm really pleased the Mint Chicks won what they did. I <3 their Crazy? Yes! Dumb? No! album ). It has a strong pop base to it, but with quirky and punky flourishes around the edges. More people need to listen to it, and often.

Plus, Ruben Mint Chicks is sooo dreamy.

Hey, thanks, Dropkicks lads and Russell for Some Foreign Field.

It was good, and it gave me an in to the world of rugby. I'd never ever cared before, but the world of non-muntery rugby comment and culture was something I could get into.

I'm not sure how it happened, but after the All Blacks loss I wrote some stuff on my blog that seemed to strike the right chord with rugby fans.

And we saw the formation of the Public Addreess System Women's First XV, a mighty and awesome force to behold!

  • Cracker: Shut 'em Down,

What puzzles me is why politicians' families are not given media awareness training. Surely that's common sense?

Politician Dad: Son, as I'm now more in the public eye, this lady is here to give us some family media training.
Teenage Son: You're not the boss of me! I'm going to listen to My Chemical Romance and/or write messages on my www Bebo cyber page!

Screw the RWC, bugger The Booker here's something to have a patriotic geek-gasm over:

Karl Urban is strapping on a stethoscope to play Leonard "Bones" McCoy, the Starship's Enterprise's medical officer, in J.J. Abrams' "Star Trek" feature for Paramount.

This is almost as exciting as when Martin Henderson played Britney's boyfriend in the "Toxic" video.
