Either
1. Eventually 1 (or 2) dominant providers will evolve thru consolidation (or failure of the weak)
or
2. The price will be driven lower and lower until (see 1. above)
In the meantime, shambles

It's a no brainer for the 4 companies involved really. If they win then they have exclusive rights for the content they have purchased and then have the law behind them playing whack a mole with the VPN providers.
If they lose the case then they can argue for lower $$ when paying for rights on the basis it's no longer exclusive.
The legal costs shared between those 4 entities will be a rounding error to them.

Hard News: How about that cricket, eh?, in reply to
Oh yeah, real emotion from Morkel, De Villiers, De Kock.
We'll give Steyn the benefit of the doubt, he was in the line up shaking hands at the end.
On the other hand Elliott might have been getting one last sledge in....
There's a meme of that photo doing the rounds with Elliott saying "it's best to stand up when you're choking" -
Fantastic edge of the seat stuff and we came out the right side of it.
That photo of Elliott offering a hand to Steyn is interesting, if you watched it live on the telly Steyn petulantly pulls his hand away from Elliott, turns his back and refuses the hand up.

They wouldn't need the Greens support because they'd have the support of NACT as has happened before on these matters.

Regardless of the road width issue, what about the height? The largest of those trees overhang GNR significantly. Doesn't the road need to be raised to enable a smooth turn left ?(heading west).
Wasn't the height the original requirement that drove the request to trim the trees that the local board approved?

Hard News: We can make things better here, in reply to
I don't think you will be able to get on at Pt Chev to head west (to airport) you need to get on at St Lukes instead. Less traffic through Carrington/ Owairaka but more at St Lukes

High Street retail is dying and the hot new fashion precinct is the non-car part of Britomart Square.
Yeah but I also understand a few retailers were given some very, very attractive initial lease deals to move into the Britomart area. It'll be interesting to see what happens when those initial deals come up for renewal.

From 2017, I expect that traffic through the middle of my suburb, especially on Meola and Point Chevalier roads, will decrease notably, because there will be no direct access to the Waterview Connection via Point Chevalier. I worry about that St Luke’s interchange, but I’m pretty happy about the prospect of fewer traffic jams on Carrington Road.
Have you seen any figures regarding the expected reduction on Meola/Pt Chev traffic?
I would have thought that's mostly people doing the West - North Shore commute which won't really be altered by SH20? -
