It seems that the National Party has a policy of winning an outright majority at the election. Cunliffe walked right into a trap - you would think as an experienced politician he would have seen it coming. Bomber Bradbury and Chris Trotter are in melt-down. Calling your allies scabs is not helpful. Meanwhile everyone loses sight of the bigger picture.

I notice that it estimates intellectual disability at 2%. That's about 80,000+ people. Previous estimates have been 30-50,000. So that is a significantly larger number.

Looking forward to that. We have been waiting a long time for this data (ages since our last disability census and that was a bit limited). Hope this new one is going to be useful.

Met Michael Roguski and David Russell today, authors of reports mentioned in this post. Both still doing good relevant work in the field. David Russell now involved with the investigation into Te Roopu Taurima Trust.

I'm not saying that at all. I just wanted a little bit of advocacy for the foetus with impairment, so it is not automatically seen as a disaster. They are different things
By the way few of us choose to have a disabled child. But when you get one most people just keep going. It can get harder but there are rewards too. What you imagine yourself doing theoretically and what you actually do to get by day by day are different.
