  • Field Theory: A post about art (sort of),

Whence comes this strange notion that works of art can be made by a special effects company? And do the people involved not realise that we are going to be mocked for this? It is five metres high and it is horrible. This is the sort of thing that should be a lot smaller and available for purchase in an easy plan of 24 monthly payments.

  • Cracker: Wallywood,

Not so much a slogan, more a way of life: when you arrive at the terminal, all you see is Wild at Heart logos, with Wellington International Airport mentioned only in the small print. It looks like a rebranding to me. The intention is

  • Cracker: Wallywood,

Although unlike Herr Fuhrer I don't mind the new terminal personally

He failed to get into architecture school, you know.

  • Cracker: Wallywood,

Point of Information, Mr Cracker: I believe Wellington International Airport is now known as Wild at Heart, in celebration of 50 Wild Years.

I cringe by proxy for the locals.

  • Somebody Had To Say This....,

Way off topic, I know, but somebody had to say it.

Say it loud, brother. I was somewhat disconcerted to learn about this from the Independent in Ingerland. It is more than a little embarrassing on a global stage.

On the other hand, fools have been parted from their money, which has gone to the suffering animals. So it turned out nice again.

  • Hard News: Still crazy after all these years,

There's little to suggest that the journalists' visit was made in good faith. They were looking for spectacle.

I think they should be given the benefit of the doubt and treated as any other alleged victim of a sex crime should be treated. I find this talk of 'outing' them to be disturbing.

  • Hard News: The Press, Privacy and The Paps,

What's interesting about someone being a lesbian?

Where I come from, that deserves nothing but a yawn and a reach for the remote.

    You come from Lesbia?

  • Hard News: "Creative" and "Flexible",

We don't have Texaco in New Zealand; it has been Caltex since the early 1940s. It is not really advertising if you cannot buy the product. Even BBC Radio 3 re-broadcasts Live from the Met.
