  • Random Play: It’s Only Rock’n’Roll,

I abhor the trend to later and later gigs.

I think punters cause this (as well as the venues/promoters) by turning up so late - in the dance scene anyhow. Clubs don't seem to fill up until 1 or so.

I remember shortly after I was 18 and finally old enough to go to clubs/bars I turned up naively early (maybe 10pm) to see Ed Rush and was the only person there other than the opening dj for the first hour or so. Ed Rush finally started his set around 2am.

  • Hard News: Getting the pip,

    ...maybe the weakest ever

It's certainly up there.. I'm skipping this year for the first time in many in favour of Diplo's solo show.

  • Yellow Peril: The gift that keeps on giving,

My favourite moment is the breakdown/countdown. Delightful.

    Mine too.

JT is actually quite funny, his other SNL appearances have been good too.

  • Good Night Kiwi,

Out of curiousity as I am from a media saturated 24 hour tv childhood, what time did tv stop? Around 11pm?

    Jeremy Wells is Christopher Morris.

It definitely reminds me of Brasseye, and also a little of Nathan Barley (which, for anyone who hasn't seen it, is definitely worth tracking down).

  • Hard News: Only rock 'n' roll,

Can't blame the stones for picking them though - there was never any danger of them being upstaged by the support.

  • Cracker: I've Got the Love. In the Music,

I hate to say it but the new Justin Timberlake as remixed by the DFA crew is quite a wonderous thing, especially the last few minutes. But then again I quite like JT...sorry

It's great, though I have to admit I somewhat truncated it when I played it on friday night - the full 8 minutes may be trying for JT haters..

Henrick Schwarz's new Dj kicks mix cd is excellent! Great combination of his deep house style with some lovely jazz and soul tunes that all somehow complement each other brilliantly. You should check it out Damian, if you like it then the unmixed vinyl can also be purchased..

  • Cracker: I've Got the Love. In the Music,

    ^^Nice picks.

Speaking of Swedish singers covering songs there is a cover version floating around of Justin Timberlake's 'My love' by Marit Bergman which is quite nice..

There are also some new Fat Freddy's Drop remixes out - the highlight for me being a Digital Mystikz take on 'Cay's Crays'.. Dnb/house remixes also.

  • What do you want them to play at your funeral?,

Someone else mentioned what I've always fancied - 'Mothership Connection'..
Either that or some piece of epic electronic space opera soundtrack by M83 (ideally as my coffin is blasted into space).
