Her brain appears to be fine
Yay!
But will she be able to play the violin? -
You know I've been playing the violin since I was seven, and in the three decades I've been waiting since I haven't got away with that gag even once.
-
It all sounds good "scathing wit" is a very good sign
My un-voiced worry was about the potential changes this sort of adventure can bring about, Emma could have been transformed in to a goody two shoes girl, hows that for a thought! On matters medical, my two grandsons arrived a month early after a helicopter flight down from Alex last night
Potential wine makers. maybe go farming, fishing or the latest family trade, rent racking, who knows what they will end up doing, that is part of the joy of lifeI do know that we did make the mistake of eating just about all our stocks of whitebait last weekend (thanks Islander for the great recipe) so there is one family trade that will be getting a thrashing when the weather stabalizes
Read in a "how you gunning mate" voice please Karl -
She cannot wear her glasses at the moment, due to the bandages on her head
Probably time to buy her that monocle she's always wanted.
Yay for modern western socialised medicine.
-
Tonight, Karl, I'd like to sound like Alistair Cooke.
-
At last, a solution to whether it was the Doctor or the Cyberman who was truly responsible for the death of Adric. Err, that is if there aren't any metal guys with handlebar headsets hiding in the wards...
But seriously, thanks for passing on the good news Karl. You don't need to make me sound like Sylvester the Cat if you don't want to.
-
(I'll try not to give you all funny voices).
I'll have worry-wort Charlotte from A Room with a View, in her Dame Maggie Smith incarnation.

Why, congratulations! New born twins - a lovely start to spring. Also, it is sunny here in Adelaide, after weeks of grey sky and mingy rain, so I'm feeling very cheery. And of course cheered by the news from Christchurch.
-
Thank goodness Karl is an acclaimed voice artiste when not saving th world in code. :)

I think the monocle would go smashingly with that amazing red coat from a few threads back.
-
And doesn't the word "monocle" go smashingly with "plinth" - from a certain recent tattoo.
-
Hey, it's me I've been a good enough girl today that I've been moved back down out of the HDU and had all my attachments unplugged. I've still got quite a bit of pain but I've moved off having morpheine and down to codeiene. But I've also been moved away from 'shouts 23 hours a day' woman, so if this is how I've been recovering with NO sleep, it's got to get better.
I do still look like a 1950s zombie, though.
-
I do still look like a 1950s zombie, though.
Though they are always the best ones. Congrats on the move, the consciousness and the mobility!
-
We've been keeping the thread warm for you.
-
Oh look, there she is! Rad!
-
Welcome back, darling girl.
-
Welcome back indeed
-
Good to see you back.
I can't remember: are we still doing this in funny voices?

I surely hope so! I'm wondering if Karl can muster up a Majel Barrett for me? (Perhaps a Nurse Chapel?)
I also reckon with a purple frock coat and a monocle that you're a shoe-in for the next Dr Who (isn't it about time he was a chick? At least for more than a one-off i.e., Dr Donna).
So glad to see your words again Emma :-)
Judi
(do you have Adric in a jar for show-and-tell?)
-
I've also been moved away from 'shouts 23 hours a day' woman,
I had one of those too. I put it down to "that must have been one of the surgeon's mistakes"
I do still look like a 1950s zombie, though.
Coool.
Can you still hear my husky french accent mon ami?
Really glad you are doing well, but I knew you would :) Stay strong sister. -

She had multiple sub-arachnoid haemorages, I think, but she did manage to speak five languages and still directly insult me in two I could understand. There's something about having had so little sleep that really shafts my patience.
Also, no I don't have Adric. Little blighter must have come out pretty easily in the end though.
-
Really good to see you here in noughts and ones. Really good.
-
She had multiple sub-arachnoid haemorages,
why am I picturing little spiders running around the place?
I am absolutely DELIGHTED to see you here hon. I'm hoping that all the inappropriate as well as the appropriate bits of your brain are healing well.
-
She had multiple sub-arachnoid haemorages,
Shit. My one was enough. We are off to the pub to celebrate your recovery, so I'll say cheers now. :) Jackie Clarke should join us (hint hint) she knows where we will be. Get some sleep.
-
But it's Wednesday, Sofie! Never you fear, it's the holidays in 3 weeks, so I'll be at the usual place at the usual time then!
-
I surely hope so! I'm wondering if Karl can muster up a Majel Barrett for me? (Perhaps a Nurse Chapel?)
Oh look at you, grabbing all the good voices for yourself.
