  • Craig Ranapia,

    Heh...

Sanctimonious blather from politicians and media folks who are busy cultivating spiteful rat bastards who leak like a cheap colostomy bag - or valued sources acting only out of the highest regard for the public interest, if you like. Priceless.

  • Nobody Important,

I don't 'get' what the big deal about Solid Energy hiring a spy is all about. Seems fair to me - it's not like they hired someone to infiltrate the group and incite unlawful actions so the group would be viewed badly. They manage that on their own. Can't walk ten feet in Ponsonby without seeing a "Save Happy Valley" stenciled somewhere.

Besides, the turncoat seems to have turnedcoat again and is now supporting the group. Stockholm Syndrome perhaps?? I'm betting more than one SHV memeber told the lad if he was seriously remorseful for his actions he would donate all the money received for his spying to the SHV coffers.

  • hamishm,

I suppose that it is about perceptions. Solid Energy is supposed to be a good Corporate citizen and obey the laws. If people want to protest against them then SE should meet them with well thought out arguments and logic.
If they will buy into paid informers against a group like SHV, who are virtually unknown out here in the sub-Bombays, then what sort of culture do they have there? Paid informants are kind of sneaky as Mr. Slack is insinuating.
People doing business with them would be entitled to be quite wary in future.

  • Michael Fitzgerald,

Out sourcing of the police state - real post-cold war capitalist Russian styles.

Does anyone believe this guys naive claim?
In another country there would be blood on his hands.

Sunlight is the natural antiseptic and groups like this must remain open - take the high road.

Conspiracy theory time: How did Rod Donald die & where was that guy?

Apologies if this is still too soon.
